As usual, I need to clear out some comics, so it's time for a picture contest.

Around the forum, you may spot a subtle clue to the theme.

That theme is: design a new forum banner.

The only thing to note is that it should contain the name of the forum, by popular opinion: STRAIGHT TO HELL
And it should make mention of JOHN CONSTANTINE & HELLBLAZER.

I expect some of you are thinking that you have no artistic skillz etc etc, but you can enter in one of the following ways.

1) mess around with Paint or other basic programmes
2) draw something
3) cut out some images from your comics (or photocopies of them) and cut and paste

And just for those who don't want to change the look of the forum, there will be a bonus photo round

4) Submit photos which for you sum up the clash of realities embodied in John Constantine returning to the DCU (I doubt he ever left).
Preferably something from the real world outside of your home, although you might want to take a suitable item to appear in your photo (John Constantine toy, cigarette packet, satanic ritual pamphlet, you know the sort of thing.

As per usual Remote Viewing contests, post images to the flickr group or link to them in this thread.
You can email your entry to adeheathen@aol.com if all else fails.
The closing date is Friday 13th May.

Hmmm, this is challenging. If I think of a good idea, I'll join in.

Very cool, Red. Should 'hell' and 'website' be capitalized?

I think Lou is correct, those should be capitalized.

I actually like the banner that we have now.
But okay, I'm in.

I have no skills in this regard.

However, what is the provenance of the slightly mad banner with JC dressed up and in a space station (?) with some superheros?. It pleases me.

Avaunt, it's from Doom Patrol.

Red, You may want to rethink the dimensions of that banner.
And "Hell" does but "website" doesn't.

In case anyone's not on the same pageš, "banner" means the image that goes at the top of this forum page. For my money, the excellent one we've got now is too tall. So you're looking at approximately 800px by 120px.

Which explains why I had not seen it before, thanks mate.

Also, I guess I ought to go read this comic with John in Underwear-on-the-outside costume, pronto.

Yeah, I want to read that too! I think The Hellblazer also made an appearance in the excellent Books of Magic Annual: One Thousand Deaths of Timothy Hunter.

Did you know you can download a FREE fully working copy of the entire Adobe Creative Suite 5 (which includes Photoshop among other things) for FREE? It is a fully working copy for 30 days, so I helped myself. Of course, I spaced on the forum name, so I'll have to change it.

Photoshop is kewl...

I should not have skimmed the instrux as I did a horrible job of following directions. I couldn't stop myself though. I had too much fun doing this one.

What is 'skim the instrux'? I just understand the 'the' part.
