I work in web design, graphic design and publishing, and one of the most common legitimate complaints I hear from colleagues (and myself) is when editors make "improvements" to finished pieces after we deliver them. As we always say, if it wasn't good enough to publish, why buy it in the first place?

Ahem. Ahem.

Thanks Jason. Your expertise is certainly timely here.

Jason, I agree with 100%, but c'mon, give us your webdesign advice/experience regarding animated headers, filetypes, compression, etc.
Rule #1 to posting on this forum - don't take anything Rogan says personally, or seriously for that matter!

Anyway, this is a wonderful series, and I'm eternally in Rogan's debt for bringing it to my attention.

The header doesn't need animating, so file types and compression aren't relevant. If something actually needs to be done, I'm happy to do it.

Yeah, I liked the animated version at first, but now its rather distracting. Since Red got the most votes (including mine) his version is A-OK w/o the motion graphics.

I like this one.

I quite like the current one, if only it were a bit wider.

I like that first bonghit of the day...I mean...I like the combination of Red's and my designs, too. That looks cool. Nice job, Dave!

I got my prize for this competition from Ade when I was in London, and you can all proceed to go green. Top notch, Ade, especially the China Mieville book.

Jason T's is the new, hip version we need to all get onboard.
The trademark shoes are a classy touch.
Check out the logo for "Constantine". I don't know what it looks like, but it looks pretty damn bad. You can tell DC put hardly any time in to it.
