So. I don't know. Leto could make a nice Joker, and the rest of the cast seems okay, but I'm still very suspicious of the DC cinematic universe.
Rule #1 to posting on this forum - don't take anything Rogan says personally, or seriously for that matter!
- John McMahon, Forum High Priest and "The Green Mountain Boy"

Anyway, this is a wonderful series, and I'm eternally in Rogan's debt for bringing it to my attention.
- Mike Carey, on La Bete Noire

"Yes I admit it I did occasionally think you came close to being humorous a few times."

They had me at Margot Robbie but lost me entirely at Smith, Delevingne (I don't get the hype on this one) and whoever for NuDCU Waller

I'm okay with Smith for this actually. Willing to give it a shot, hope they cast a good Waller.

Casting of Amanda Waller is pretty crucial for me - none of the other names cast so far give me real reason for either optimism or concern. None leap out at me as irrefutably perfect, but there are no obviously catastrophic choices either (the fact that Will Smith is a bigger star than any of the rest by several orders of magnitude does raise the worrying possibility that the whole thing will turn into a "Deadshot And His Amazing Chums" star vehicle rather than the ensemble piece it really needs to be, but in terms of pure acting ability and screen presence I don't see any reason he shouldn't be perfectly good in the role).

The fact that they're apparently looking for an Oprah Winfrey rather than, say, an Angela Bassett is encouraging.
"As we journey through life, discarding baggage along the way, we should keep an iron grip, to the very end, on the capacity for silliness. It preserves the soul from dessication."
- Humphrey Lyttleton, 1921-2008

"The Doctor remembers every Doctor Who story ever told. Every episode, Target book, comic strip and every game of companions and TARDISes that you played as a kid. The universe he lives in has no record of it, because paradoxes and divergent dimensions and the Time War have reset things... but the Doctor remembers and sometimes when he is sad it's because you've stopped being 8 years old and he can't run around the school playground with you anymore."

So, Hardy's out and it's looking like Jake Gyllenhaal will be taking his place as Rick Flag.  Sounds like a downgrading to me, Gyllenhaal sleepwalks through every single performance.  Ostrander's Flag was always one tantrum away from a full-blown mental breakdown, flying wildly between emotions with lots and lots of yelling involved.  I could see Hardy pulling that persona off, Donnie Darko not so much.

I like it, for the most part anyway - the 'damaged' tattoo is maybe just a little much but I'm interested in seeing the character behind that look.

Conceptually, tattood joker might not be a bad idea, but those all look shirty. The damaged one, most of all.

He looks good, but that "Damaged"-tattoo is just asinine.
