Are they worth getting?

I really like the Killing Time story but I've got that in some old 2000ADs and I don't know owt about the other stories.

I'm thinking Dogpoet is probably best informed on this but if anyone else knows anything please pipe up.

You rang?

Christian really likes the Indigo Prime stuff, I think. I've not seen the collections, so I don't know what's in them. Apart from Killing Time, there were a bunch of one shots featuring various characters from before that one (by a mix of different artists, though at least one other was by Christ Weston). I know that Smith has done more recent stuff with Indigo Prime since the turn of the millennium, and I haven't read that, but looking at Amazon the Complete Indigo Prime isn't quite complete, but does have The KIlling Time and at least one of the longer multipart stories in it from back in the day in it, which is probably what you're the most interested in it for?
(Hamlyn put out a collection of just The Killing Time in the '90s, if that's the main story that interests you, so you can probably find a copy of that for peanuts now.)

I don't want Killing Time I've already got it in the old comics, I've never read any of the others and I wondered if they were worth getting.

I saw there was the (in) complete on Amazon but I don't even know where to start.

Nope, Dog. You must be thinking of another forum member. The only major non-American John Smith comic I've read is New Statesmen. Which I do think is great.

Looking at Amazon the (in)complete is mostly Killing Time and the Tony Hadley story from before 2000AD went colour, and there's another collection of the stuff added since Rebellion bought them out from Egmont.
I hope Jason can help if Christian can't because really: no idea. Sorry.

No worries.

I'll put it on the list for when finances are a bit healthier.

Sorry about the slow reply, I've been travelling.

IMHO Indigo Prime stories vary from stunning feats of imagination to bewildering impenetrable stuff. I love it in principle for the former, but the latter makes me disinclined to buy the collections. It's always quality though — the most recent one I read, from 2014, was some of the best writing and art that 2000AD is capable of. I almost stood up and applauded.

Um, hope that helps.
