TOP 10 Image books right now.
http://multiversityc...ooks-right-now/
It's a solid list. Some books just aren't my thing, like Revival, but I see why others like them. And some, like Rocket Girl Alex + Ada, I've not read. But you cannot go wrong with the likes of Saga, East of West, Sex Criminals, Manhattan Projects, and Deadly Class.
I'd put Fatale up there (though it ends next issue) and DEFINITELY Velvet. Prophet, and Lazarus.
Also, I really need to read Chew. Shame on me.

Image is on fire right now. Better than anything the Big2 are putting out

Little known fact: as part of Brubaker & Phillips FIVE year deal at Image, it also means I was willing to be contractually obligated to buy their comics for at least five years.

Are you reading Deadly Class, Lou? I feel it's right up your alley. What with teenage assassins in training, music, politics, culture, drugs, sex; all in the 1980s

I have not read Deadly Class. Will check it out. Did pick up MPH cause Millar's hot right now so we'll see.

Hopefully the same void that War Heroes went. It's really not very good.

MPH has me interested. Since it's a mini I'll give it a glance in trade.

I think I'd replace Manhattan Projects with Black Science. Where is Black Science, or is it too new to rank right now?
I'm getting kind of tired of Manhattan Projects, honestly. It was one of the best books out, but Black Science has pretty much replaced Manhattan Projects for a "warning about the dangers of science unleashed" comic series.

That's a fair arguement. I haven't read MP very regularly since I'm just buying trades. It hasn't really set my world on fire since the first trade.
But you are right Black Science is quite fantastic. I can't wait to grab the trade and finish the first arc.
I like the way Remender does good science (ficition) gone wrong stories.

Black Science just edges out Manhattan Projects--BS is more entertaining and compelling, but MP is definitely smarter and more involved. Both are excellent and I read both of them monthly. Black Science also published that letter to the editor from Jef-e, too. Don't forget that.

I read 5 of those top 10 titles monthly, making Image my favorite publisher. Walking Dead's not on that list? I'm surprised, alittle. Also surprised Saga isn't #1. Never read Alex + Ada. What's it about?

Here's my top image list:

1. Black Science
2. East of West
3. Saga
4. Manhattan Projects
5. Jupiter's Legacy
6. Nowhere Men
7. Sex Criminals
8. Revival
9. Fatale
10. Great Pacific/Walking Dead tie

Walking Dead gets in based on that awesome most recent issue.

I just finished Black Science volume one.

I love it! It's sort of like an edgier, more twisted Lost In Space. I shall call it Lost In Onion! Remender, Scalero, and White are all on fire here telling a story of what happens when scientists start breaking thru dimensional barriers and clearly should not have done so.
And what a cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what's next.

Black Science, East of West and Saga are my 3 favorite comics right now in that order.

Is anyone else reading Deadly Class? If not, do yourself a huge favor and do so. Rick Remender knocks it out of the park here. You thought Black Science was good? Me too. Deadly Class is on another level. I think it has to do with the face that RR is digging deep into his personal experiences from the 1980, there is just so much honesty, pain and real fun. It reads like hanging out with good buddies. I'm amazed it took so long for someone to come along and do something like that.It is also beautifully unique visually.

The first issue is not a bomb, so stay with it at least for another one or two. Very highly recoremendered!

Yes! And I am down with it. It is quite good, though the last two issues could've been tightened up a bit. Fantastic art by the way.
I'd say get the trade for sure!

Another week with the only comics I'm buying are from Image. Truth be told, if not for Image, I would not be reading1/4 of the comics I read, and therefore, I would not be much of a comic fan anymore, since I stopped reading most superhero stuff. Thanks, Image!

Since buying Image's big all-in-one Stray Bullets collection at the weekend, my back has been fucked. Thanks Image.

Hope you like it, even if you have to download it to read it - i bought the first issue, then read the next 2 online, and went to the store to buy all of them, because i would feel like an asshole if i didn't. I even bought issue #3 twice, with different covers, which is something i've never done before.

I think I'll enjoy Southern Bastards on a monthly basis. There's been some solid, episodic TV style cliffhangers. Tubb walking in to the BBQ joint was fantastic, statements were made, lines were drawn! Again, the beats are familiar but it's interesting enough, and the culture of small town Alabama is fascinating. It's like another world....and I'm American!
In the back of issue is a recipe for homemade fried apple pies! Holy damn, I must make them some time.
