So I've started this a while ago, but my various academic and literally pursuits (you can ask but I don't want to talk about it upfront and bore people before I properly got used to the forum XD) kept me from continuing.

Basically the Vertigo Vault is a project where I review obscure or semi-obscure Vertigo titles. Some of the stuff I ran across seems downright insane so looking forward to that.

First two series covered are "Beware the Creeper" and "The Minx". Next up is "Muktuk Wolfsbreath, Hard Boiled Shaman".

http://thevertigovault.blogspot.cz/

And I know, basic background and stuff. I run two other blogs, one about criticising Bleach with a couple of mates and another about obscure weird fiction and trying to juggle all that with my reading so I didn't really get to do much with that yet. Sorry XD

And as an addendum, my native language is not English so excuse the odd grammatical fuck up, like me writing "availible" and whatnot.

I have not. Milligan is on real thin ice with me.

Freakwave is a very old Milligan project, not a recent thing, Lou. I think it was the first thing he had published in the 'States. There's excerpts from it in that The Best Of Milligan And McCarthy book, but (like the other two things in there I'd loved to have seen collected properly) it's only represented by a few chunks of story.

Sadly, as that was published by Eclipse (I think), it doesn't really come under Bran's Vertigo umbrella. On the other hand, The Extremist, Egypt, and Enigma all do.
And Face. Seriously, Bran, you gotta read Face. It's the single best comic Milligan has ever done. Honest.

Nice site, btw, Bran. I loved The Minx, so it was great seeing that discussed.

It's also where the plot fo Water World was ripped off of.

And there is a complete scan of this online, which I only say because it was never collected. But to copy something from an issue I do have lying about

Dogpoet, check your inbox : D

And I'm getting to Muktuk once I finish issue 5 of Swamp Thing. Well that and after I finish Chapter VII of Family Religion in Babylonia, Ugarit and Israel.

Hey stop snickering, I'm practically swimming in incantations against snake bites here : P

Nice. I enjoyed all of those series that you've reviewed. I miss those "classic" days of Vertigo.

Lou-Check out The Best of Milligan and McCarthy Trade from Dark Horse. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just started Face and there's a guy cutting up his own eyelid.

And I'm extremely squeamish when it comes to eye dammage and such. I'll persevere but it's not starting easy on the eyes is all. XD

Oh, speaking of good one-shots from Vertigo...How about Tainted from Jamie Delano? It might not be quite the best book Delano ever wrote, but if not, it's pretty damn close. That's a great Vertigo comic. Face was ok, but I wasn't as enamored of it as Dog seems to be...not enough to rank it as Milligan's best work. Tainted is much better.

Planning to do both and two others to cover all of Vertigo Voices. Already finished reading Face too.
