And 1986 and a bit of '87.
I don't know when 1986 and after were posted, I just spotted it tonight, but anyway, there's nothing between them and 1980. There's quite a bit of the story missing, and something rather unsettling, and mysterious due to the missing years, appears to have happened to Johnny Red's adopted unit, the Falcons, in the meantime.

I might have some of the missing years myself. I'll have to check.

If you click on Amazon's link to other books by Tom Tully, a nifty collection of 1960s classics pops up: Albion Origins, with Kelly's Eye, Janus Stark, and two others drawn by Eric Bradbury. Tempting. The Johnny Red collection is a no-brainer, though.

"But that's the whole point, it's supernatural, these things happen.
It's not supposed to be realistic in that sense."

Would like some more from the same creative team but thought the framing sequence did a good job of saying goodbye to the character so maybe just a new War Story over at Avatar ?

Hope Garf gets a new artist for future war stories. Jason was right. That one dude was kind of sucky
