To my extended family at Master McMahon's Hellblazer forum -
It's extrememly difficult for me to report that my brother in law, my friend, my brother, Stevhan Gobble was tragically killed this morning in a traffic accident near his home in Chicago.
To Hellblazer fans Stevhan was the face of John Constantine during my 7 year association with the title.
He was 40 years old.

We're devastated.

Please keep Stevhan in your thoughts as he is in our hearts.

Personally the two of you, alongside Sean Phillip's interiors, crafted the most icon John Constantine.

I am honestly sorry for you and your wife's loss.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family Tim. May the pain over the loss pass soon, and leave you with the great memories of your time together.

Sorry to hear that.
It's like losing the real John Constantine, the one that was fictionalized in this comic book serial. I'm sure his life story was embellished and Stevhan Gobble lived a far better life.
All those Hellblazer covers will now serve as a tribute to those who knew the real person.

Very sorry to hear that Tim.
Your family have my best wishes and sympathy.

I was looking through some Hellblazer covers the other day, and realised that he still is the face of Constantine for me.
I know how fond of him you were from your tales of working together on those covers.

I'm with Ade, those covers more or less have defined my view of the character now.
I'm very sorry for your loss, Tim.

Sincerely appreciate the support everyone.
It's been a black day here and your well wishes give us all strength.
Stevhan would be massively touched. I know that WE are.
He was a huge comics fan and portraying Constantine was a real thrill for him.

You guys are class all the way.

I'd like to add my own condolences. I've lost my father and an old friend in the same month earlier this year so I know pretty much how it feels.

From a selfish point of view, thanks for posting the photograph, it was fascinating to see the man himself in Constantine pose. I'd love to see more.

Very best wishes,
