I'll be reading, but certainly not buying, unless it turns out to be really good and not bogged down by current DCU events. Then I might look for the trades.

John Constantine, Deadman, Shade the Changing Man and Madame Xanadu are Justice League Dark, a band of supernatural heroes united to stop the dark things the rest of the DCU does not see in JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #1, by Peter Milligan and artist Mikel Janin.

This, to my teenage 'mature readers'-centric self circa 1989, would pretty much be the worst thing in the world.

And I've not mellowed that much.

DC IS RAPING MY MOPEY POST-PUBESCENCE!

I think James is going to have an aneurysm, when he starts chronicling JC's DCU adventures for his wiki.

Incidentally, This poll here makes it seem that this is the title people are most interested in, out of all these new "Dark" DCU titles.

What the hell is Katy Perry doing on a superteam, and why has she plunged her arm into Deadman's chest like a Thuggie cultist from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom?

DC Women Kicking Ass speculate that's Zatanna, in her new DC-mandated pants-costume, reduced to wearing fishnets on her arms.

Who is then the green-cowled evil(?) witch in the background?

Katy Perry? All right. I'm in.

I'll be buying this, unless the writing is awful...but they really should've done a better job on naming the book.
How about recycling the Shadowpact title? I know copyright issues won't be coming up for many years yet, but it's better than trying to make a coherent line of "all DC team books being Justice Leagues".

Rogan-Is that an evil witch or a member of the team?
I'd assume it's Enchantress, but I'm not as familiar with DC characters as Marvel, so I could be wrong.

I just assumed she's an evil witch, based on her look/evil grin/green-glowing eyes. She's the only one who doesn't look shocked/terrified on that cover, so she doesn't seem like a team member.

And yeah, they should'be made this a Shadowpact reboot, though I'm well aware of the fact that sticking Justice League on the cover of Shadowpact redux will get you a few more thousand copies sold. Plus, Detective Chimp and Constantine would've been some fertile ground for comedy.

I kind of wonder if Chas is going to transition into the DC Universe...  I can see him not being all that pleased to see Detective Chimp.

I'm pretty sure that guy following John around in the "Search for Swamp Thing" preview pages was meant to be Chas.
They've got a Batman and Robin thing going in the DCU.

I reckon Detective Chimp would ask about his mother's familiar, who he used to date (she got him into magic and such, y'know), their lovechild's called Beppo. Suddenly a comedic tale becomes a tragic love story.

Egad! The possibilities are endless!

Chas meeting Space Cabbie, Mange joining The Zoo Crew, Luthor turning the Tate Club against the Supers, S.W. Manor turns out to be Bane, Etrigan gives First of the Fallen the finger while Nergal fights Neron over the keys to Hell, Kit goes to Zatanna's show in Dublin and they end up exchanging tales about John, Angie Spatchcock has censors (and Milligan) change her name to Angie Spatula, The Shadow Dog and Krypto have a team-up in Doglick, Dead Boy's Heart turns out to be a piece of Red Kryptonite, leading to a retcon issue when young John met Superboy, Papa Midnite becomes the new Doctor Fate, Demon Constantine and Doctor Light share a beer at a supervillain bar, Lois is the one writing an expose on COnstantine, not Satchmo Hawkins, Ritchie Simpson hacks into Calculator's ünternet and starts a World Villain War thru disinformation, I Vampire tries to drink John's blood, decides not to, it turns out John's lung cancer was caused by his short-lived love affair with Spiderman during the upcoming Marvel/DCU crossover (just use your imagination), Agent Turro gets transferred to GCPD, makes shady deal with Black Mask, deal backfires, Téfé Holland gets emancipated from her parents, and comes to live with her biological dad, Dani gets spun off to the soon-to-be-revamped Milestone universe, becomes Icon's Lois Lane equivalent, it turns out Thomas Constantine has a secret past with Thomas Wayne...

Whew... better stop here, I could do this for hours.

The thing is, the titles that I would consider some sort of "Nerd-bait" are among the lowest ranked : Cornell on Demon Knights, Voodoo, even I...Vampire.

The green witch turned up in that atrocious Milligan-penned Secret Six thing. Not sure who she is. I actually quite like the sound of this, TBH. Sticking Constantine and Shade in their own Justice League is pretty much exactly what I'd want them to do with a DCU-bound bunch of Vertigo stars. Really like that cover, too, even if Katy Perry is in it (and the black trenchcoat looks silly).

But yes, aneurysms ahoy. I'm already busy enough with actual proper work!

I kinda got you started with the DCU team. Though I fear that you'll spend more time correcting my mistakes than creating new articles. Will try to get more work done.

Enchantress plays a prominent role in the atrocious Secret Seven.
Since the book is over a week old, I don't remember if there was another green witch in that comic...but Enchantress was surely there, and she can go both ways. (cue JasonT, or alternately that guy who wrote the article about John being into incest who will surely lecture me on the evils of going both ways)
