About Me
The fuck is this? "About me"? How about you? What about you? HUH?? You talkin' ta me? Don't make me come over there! I once stapled a dog to the mailbox 'cause the mailman wouldn't get the fuckin' picture. You want me to staple a dog to ya? Huh? I got a staple gun, some smokes, and some time to kill. I don't have a dog, though. Dammit. Fail.
Fine.
"About Me".
Firstly, let's talk genetics. I'm one half German, one quarter Native American, and one quarter English. I'm always at war with myself. The Native American me just wants to expand his mind in peace and tell stories, but then the English me comes in and tries to overwork itself and never EVER admit failure and the Native American me is powerless to stop it, so, weary and frustrated, the German me revolts with great fervor and declares Blitzkrieg on the whole thing and goes down in a glorious, banner-waving flame. Disclaimer: this is not my opinion regarding the above mentioned peoples, this is simply historical referencing trying to answer the question "Why am I like this?"
I, in fact, traveled to Europe as a teenager and still, to this day, would rather live there than the "Good Ol' US of A". "Old Glory" indeed. But I digress.
There are things that I like about my country, mostly outdated things. Duke Ellington. Howlin' Wolf. The 1st Ammendment (thankfully not outdated). Hogan's Heroes (1950's sitcom taking place in a POW camp during WW2, classic "make fun of Nazis" comedy).
Oh, that's another thing about me that you'll have to pardon; my dark sense of humor. I love the vast realm of dark comedy and gallows humor. I also think humanity and its history are a great laugh, so I apologize in advance to anyone who thinks my laughter is offensive.
What else do I like about the USA? This is healthy, see good in bad. I dunno, it's hard to like something that continuously hands you bad news, pink slips, and eviction notices.
Secondly, let's talk religion. I know, I know, a bad idea. But still, you asked, silly website. Currently I seem to be following the Northern Path, as taught to me by my very German grandfather whom I called "Opa". I like to say the old Bavarian died of "being finished". Unfortunately he wasn't asleep as he passed as is usually the case in "Old Age" death scenarios. It was him who first introduced me to Siegfried and the dragon Fafnir, the Valkyrie Brynnhild and all the trouble she wrought, and when I asked about various references made in these stories, they led to the myths of Wotan and Thunar, Frey and Freya, the giants, the dwarves, etc. And let us never (for our own goods) forget Loki. The tales stuck, I guess, and in my early adulthood I started to explore Teutonic religion. I'm still in my early adulthood, so I'm a greenhorn I guess.
Jesus Christ! I'm an aspiring writer, can ya tell?
I live with Kat, some of you already know her as LostSophia. We've been together for over five years now, and I can frankly say I forsee a long future.
I'm a heavy smoker, I like to walk, I spend too much time in my mind, and I'm kind of a sucker for good booze.
The reason I like John Constantine is that he reminds of myself in a lot of respects.
Fine.

Don't you know there ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk.

A new order is coming, and men like you will be sent to the delousing station of history!

- My number one interest is watching the apes on parade, that's right, while watching the news or some kind of public gathering I'll sit there and imagine that all the people are chimpanzees or guerillas in human clothes doing exactly what they're doing. It makes politics fantastic. And history for that matter.
All too frequently, random strangers will come up to me at the bus stop or where ever and share strange pieces of their bizarre lives, like the sailor who found an SUV floating in the middle of the Atlantic in which was a very disturbed cat living off of sea growth and rain water. Don't know if that was true or not, but the story just randomly came my way while waiting for the bus. Besides, in cases like this, it's not about the truth, it's about the telling of the story. That sailor spun an excellent yarn, great turns of phrase.
I guess my interests generate randomly...
