But that just makes it worse, it makes Yankball a dirty rotten tease. :P ;)

Just joking here, I really have no sporting interest, experience or preference, but I like teasing US sports fans. Though watching Friday Night Lights made Yankball seem compelling and NOT that hard to understand, actually [before watching that show, the whole game seemed just kind of arbitrary to me]. I still find most US sports a bit on the isolationist side, which I feel contributes to the American people usually not being able to really "get"/connect/empathize with other bits of the world, culturally, but that's a whole larger and infinitely more complex discussion.

Thats an interesting way to look at it, and one i had not considered before.

you could say the same for british sports (rugby, polo, cricket...), that are only played in the commonwealth. handball would be a sport that is exceptionally big in germany (compared to other countries).

every country has its own unique culture and because of its history and size the us does not have one that is very unique. take their cuisine, it is basically what the rest of the world does, with twice the size and an additional half a ton of fat. us sports are actually the only thing, that is genuinly of their own invention and is enjoyed all over the country, regardless of age, sex, race and so on*. it makes absolute sense for a population, that is for a big part so, erhm lets say... patriotic, to protect the one thing that is unique to their national identity and that they are therefore a little resistant to adapting football.

*even though a lot of modern music styles (rap, rnb, blues, jazz, country...) are from the us, they are attributed to certain groups that do not represent the us in general.

3.30M (1.0) for Friday's overnights; our boy and Grimm went up, ABC and CBS tumbled and ABC's Rule 63 George Lopez Cristella hits series low. Awaiting the NBC PR on Futon Critic for Blessed Are The Damned's L+3

· "Constantine" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) jumped +25% or 0.2 of a point week to week in adult 18-49 rating (from a 0.8 to a 1.0) and +4% in total viewers (3.295 million vs. 3.169 million), to capture its top 18-49 rating in three weeks, since Nov. 21 (1.1).

· This week's "Constantine" retained 77% of its 18-49 lead-in from "Grimm," up from last week's 67% (0.8 vs. 1.2). Despite the 10 p.m. hour, last night's "Constantine" maintained 100% of its rating from half-hour to half-hour in adults, men and women 18-49 (1.0 to 1.0 in each demo) and adults, men and women 25-54 (1.2 to 1.2 in each demo).

· "Constantine" will increase substantially in L+3 -- the week-ago "Constantine" grew by +83% going from L+SD to L+3 (from a 0.82 to a 1.50).

In light of the time slot change, I have forecasted two possible scenarios between 01/16 and 02/13:

Scenario #1-

1x09: 4.2M (1.3) w/ 5.9-6M (1.9) even in L+3

1x10: 4.0M (1.1) w/ 6.1M (2.0) in L+3

1x11: 3.98M - 4.15M (1.0) w/ 5.7M (1.8) in L+3

1x12: 4.3M (1.2) w/ 6.2M (2.5)in L+3

1x13: 4.75M (1.3) w/ 6.8M (2.7)in L+3

Scenario #2:

1x09: 3.70M (1.0); 5.6m (1.6)in L+3

1x10: 3.97M - 4.05M (1.1) w/ 5.7M (1.6) in L+3

1x11: 4.18M (1.0); 5.9M (1.8) in L+3

1x12: 4.39M (1.2); 6M (1.9) even in L+3

1x13: 4.67M (1.4); 6.5M (2.4) in L+3

I'll be shocked as hell if neither scenario plays out or astonished if one of them come to fruition.

What is that forecast based on?

Most people who watch primetime TV are more likley to watch during the 8pm hour followed by the 9pm slots than 10pm. Our boy got luck maintaining 3Mil+ with the L+3 without dipping to under 3M the way Dracula's overnights did.

I'm afraid that's it.

I'm not. The millions tuned in are of the similar size as The Darkness Beneath's three months ago. In the case of here, some may have been out of the loop about the timeslot change until right now. Episodes 3-5 managed to have the show bounce back from the Halloween ratings so who's to say Episodes 10-13 won't do the same this time around.

Then there's the L+3 ratings. Looking at The Darkness Beneath's, Part 2's may be on par with it at 4.7-4.9M with the demo there being between 1.5-1.7 tops

And what did the programme that Constantine replaced used to get ?

Dateline got 8M when it was at 8PM and it earned 4.50M in its new slot.

Another factor in this week's slump is NBC not promoting the new timeslot on air alot compared to via social media
