I too have been on a trade/graphic novel binge. Off the top of my head, the recent ones (at latest puchased a week and a half ago) are:

* Swamp Thing: The Saga of the Swamp Thing

* Lucifer: Devil in the Gateway

* The Sandman: Worlds' End

* The Sandman: The Kindly Ones

* The Sandman: The Wake

* The Sandman: Endless Nights

* From Hell

* Transmetropolitan: The New Scum

* Transmetropolitan: Lonely City

* Hellblazer: Highwater

* Hellblazer: Red Sepulchre

And, next week, I'll be picking up: Hellblazer: Black Flowers.

Yeah, I'm a trade fiend.

In this past 3 months:

Watchmen, V for Vendetta, SWE3ROTS, Y:TLM #2

, The Keanusteen comic adaptation...FOR THE GAIMAN STORY!, that wretched hardcover AUTHORITY trade where they save the world with a hug...I MEAN REALLY!

That's all I can think of, but now I'm pissed because that AUTHORITY harcover sucked ass, and I payed for it!

Love and Rockets Palomar (these are the size of a small phone book complete storylines)

Love and Rockets Locas

156097611X.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Yay! what did you think of those two? probably my favourite two graphic novels, right after CAGES. Locas is a bit of a mess for the first 100 or so pages, when it was still in scifi territory, but after that I think it becomes ossibly the greatest collection of stories ever. (I recommend you read the post-Locas and Palomar Love & Rockets stuff as well)

Complete Crumb: Death of Fritz the Cat

The Complete Crumb Comics, Volume 15

The Complete Crumb: Crumb Advocates Violent Overthrow

The Complete Crumb Comics, Volume 16

Complete Crumb: Starring Fritz the Cat, Vol. 3

Crumb is great, you picked some of the best volumes. the final one, 17, is also a blast.

anyway, as for me:

Heavy Liquid

Escapo

Lone Wolf & Cub 16-19

Bacchus - Immortality isn't forever

Bacchus - THe Gods of business

Bacchus - Doing the islands with Bacchus

Bacchus - THe Eyeball Kid One-Man Show

Bacchus - Earth, Sea, Fire, Water

Bacchus - 1001 Nights of Bacchus

Bacchus - THe Eyeball Kid Double Bill

Bacchus - King Bacchus

Bacchus - Banged Up

Alec - Three Piece Suit

2020 Visions

Quit Your Job

Clumsy

Complete Crumb Comics vol. 17

Define 'recent'?

And, does manga count, as well?

Okay, taking 'recent' to mean the last three months, this is what I picked up:

Hellblazer Original Sins (thus starting my HB trade collection)

20th Century Boys 9, 10, 11

Blame 3, 4, 5, 6, 8

The Red Star collected edition

Finder: The Rescuers

A few of those Blame and 20th Century Boys volumes were presents, though, so technically it wasn't me who picked them up. Being a person of very limited funds I try to keep my comics spending under 20 euros a month, i.e. one trade or several mangas per month.

I have 300 NOK to spend on books, I think I can get Sandman V & VI for that. I'm very very slowly picking these up. Considering they have been out for so many years now.

I'm sure you could borrow Malin's copies if you just want to read them. But yes, Sandman is always a worthwhile use of money.

I used to have all of the Love and Rockets in graphic novel form but my brother decided to make some money one day while I was away and sold them at a local book store. They were all limited edition autographed hardcovers.The Palomar storyline is my favorite in the Love and Rockets line but the artwork for Locas appeals to me more. I prefer this large volume collection over the scattershot past graphic novels it was hard to complete the storyline when you split each graphic novel with 3 different and distinct stories.

I'll have to pick up number 17 of crumb as well. I bought what amazon had in stock.

I wish my comic book store would stock some fantagraphics graphic novels it forces me not to support my local comic book store.

i'm going to have to check out some of your graphic novel choices.

At the start of summer i got a load out of the childrens library, so I've fuinished off Sandman, some JLA stuff and The Furies. An Superman for all Seasons. They're all brand new an all, so they must have got a load of new in. Last time I asked most had been nicked.

And he still lives?

I waited for my revenge. When he went to go visit his girlfriend for a few week I sold a bunch of his stuff on e-bay. I remember a Hellboy bust,a Sally doll from Nightmare Before Christmas in the box 1993 and a bunch of his original star wars figures that were also still in the package. I think, I actually came out ahead.

People love to steal graphic novels. I was pretty mad when I found out my friends entire graphic novel collection had been nicked from our local library. I stole three or four back and dropped them off in the library return slot.

Finally got around to reading 100 Bullets recently with the first trade with some trepidation after reading Azzarello's Highwater, and lo and behold, I enjoyed it..

Tracked down the JLA: New World Order and also immensly enjoyed that. I could really grow to like Superman if I find more stories where he is written like this. I wanna get more JLA as rapidly as possible but my nearest comic shop seems to have loads of JLA trades and Im unsure what the good stuff is from the bad...

Also based on its high recommendation here, I got the first Walking Dead trade. Didnt make a huge initial impression on me but it did suck me in by the ending and in typical fashion, the local comic shop has sold out of the second trade, curses!!

I enjoyed the first Walking Dead trade a lot, but it's not until the second volume that it really kicks into top gear. Good luck finding the next trade!

your brother must DIE. I agree with you on Jaime Hernandez' artwork. the more recent stuff he's doing in Love& Rockets vol.2 (you can see some of it in the Dicks & Deedes collection, and the upcoming Ghosts of Hoppers collection) is even sharper.

Nightcrawler: The Devil Inside- Solid writing and art. Bit o Kolchak. The only good solo X-book.

Concrete: Depths- I was disappointed about the stories being all out of order, but pure gold otherwise.

The Authority: Revolution book 1- This got me to like the Authority again. The art is decent.

B.P.R.D. Hollow Earth & A Plague of Frogs- Great stuff to satisfy the Hellboy geek in me. Guy Davis is the man.

Well, am trying to get my hands on whatever Sandman and HB there are over here, and there arent many...

Sandman isnt so bad, particularly since NGaiman visited (I have 3 volumes missing) but that's the reverse for HB. I only have 3... and incessant calling at the store hasnt helped....

maybe some good old Chinese style might ....

Elektra:Assassin by Frank Miller. I'm not a fan of Elektra or ninjas, but the book was only $8 and I figured anything by Miller must be worth a dollar a comic, plus the art is fantastic.

Wow! What a shock! This was pure, classic 1980s "mature readers" comics. It pales in comparison only to "Dark Knight Returns" when it comes to Frank Miller comics, in my eyes.

The ninja and cyborg stuff held it back for me, but such a good read.

Also, "Essential Wolverine vol. 1". Eh. Haven't finished it yet. It's pretty typical 1980s Marvel comic book fare, which isn't a bad thing, but it's one of the lesser Chris Claremont works from the 1980s. The stories are good and the writing is fine, but the stories just don't pull me in.
