Constantine Reshoots for PG-13 Rating?

Source: Hellblazed

November 1, 2004

'Hellblazed' pointed us to the Straight to Hell fansite which reports that Keanu Reeves-starrer Constantine is doing reshoots to change the rating:

Rumours abound that Constantine has received an R certificate in the States and that some scenes are currently being reshot. Speculation is rife that the movie makers are either taking advantage of the R cert to go back and 'spice-up' certain scenes or are being forced to tone-down said scenes in order to make it a PG-13 flick.

Visit the link above for more on this.

"Speculation is rife" meaning that myself and Matador posted about it somewhere on the internet.

They're a big site SHH so maybe this'll prompt some kind of official word from Warner.

I heard that they are reshooting all the scenes with Keanu Reeves behaving as left-handed, since they found out that John Constantine was actually right-handed.

Wait 'till they read Tom's posts, they'll write that "the entire interet is abuzz that the movie will indeed suck, and that noone will go see it."

" the best movie I've seen in a long long time..."

"Francis is a fucking genius..."

"It's like nothing else out there..."

"It redefines the genre because it doesn't follow the cliche's....

"There will definitely be a sequel..."

"Will John give the finger to Jesus?"

All real quotes by some very credible, very skeptical people.

From where? Can I have some names? What qualifies them as "skeptical"? Did they have any prior knowledge of the comic?

I read the script. It was okay.

Hey Tears, are they reshooting certain scenes in Constantine to ensure a PG-13 rating ?

"It doesn't read like a bad flick but as an adaptation of Hellblazer, it's pretty brutal" - some bloke who read the script.

Matadoor?

i thought John would have compared Matadoor and Tears's IP numbers, to see if there's a connection...?

(though i've seen that they once both posted in a span of a few minutes. could be a coincidence...)

Matador obviously has inside knowledge and has emailed me here on this forum but I have not figured out who he is yet. He refuses to let me in on that. Francis? Akiva? Maybe Keanu? Definitely not me, though. Sorry.

But that's exactly the reason I can't name names because I have no idea who is lurking on here and in a city where they print your name on EVERY page of a script they let you read - for tracking reasons - there is no way I'm going out on that limb. I have dogs to feed.

why is that a valid reason for not naming the folks who are "very credible, very skeptical people" - these folks apparently saw the movie, and how could they have done that, if they weren't greenlighted and hand-picked by the studios with the intent of making people talk GOOD stuff about this flick (for once)?

that quote would probably read much better as "it redefined the cliches because it doesn't follow the genre"

I hope he's not Keanu, because I really do want to like that guy.

That was very creative over on the last page Rogan! I'm proud!

EVERY DAMN MOVIE IN HOLLYWOOD HAS PRAISE LIKE THAT!!!

"Saw" was widely panned as one of the most moronic and sophomoric efforts in horror movie history by reviewers.

But yet, if you look at the ad they take out in newspapers, there's always 3 quotes that read:

"Most cerebral horror in ages."

"Gives horror a good name again."

"The creepiest movie you'll ever see."

There're always some idiots who will enjoy any movie!

Just look at fucking Chuck Austen comic books. Apparently there are a bunch of comic book readers that really adore him.

"Chuck Austen must be one of the top writers in any field of literature", actual quote from an "Uncanny X-Men" letter's page.
