The most faithful film of a comic?

Recommended Posts

Not if you know what's good for you.

But I DO know what's good for me: CAKE! WITHOUT NUTS! But does it help that I know this? Does it bollocks.

Sorry for the offtopic rant.

So, off the cuff sarcastic remarks are taken seriously around here, eh?

Only if it suits us at the time.

(Ooooh, just noticed the new format to the reply page. Change is a Bad Thing. I'm confused and scared.)

Is this where I announce my meh-attitude towards Die Hard? :D

Only if you want to be wrong.

Dear lord Hudson Hawk was awful.

There, I mentioned Hudson Hawk. Am I back in your will?

Now that Stephen Kings "the Gunslinger" is a comic book, I say the next thing I'd like to see done with it is on the screen. But with that series, I think the small screen is the way to go. Like as a series on Showtime or HBO.

And I'd cast either Christian Bale or Viggo Mortenson as Roland.

But as far as comic book movies I've thought were pretty faithful to the page, my list goes as follows:

The Crow

Hellboy (not a fan, but they really did well)

The Punisher (2004) (It had it's good points as well as bad, but did Welcome Back Frank justice)

Spider-Man

Superman (1978)

X-Men

Batman Begins (not a fan of anything from before.)

300

Sin City

Superman Returns (as long as I forget the end, with the son)

So whyever not Flash Gordon? That film did (rather camp) newspaper strips from the thirties perfectly.

Although they did change the eponymn from a polo player to a linebacker for the film, which some regard as a bigger liberty than making Elektra the love of Daredevil's life after a one night stand. Can't see it, myself, but some people find it a liberty.

Aye, but it was Jennifer Garner, so it's understandable.

Well yes, but he couldn't see that she was Jennifer Garner, could he?

That always looks scarier when it is accompanied by your non-smiling, cutlery-wielding self portrait, Abe.

:D

What can I say? Not a fan. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of explosions, just not the ones that defy the laws of physics.

You're concerned with physics when you're watching a movie like Die Hard?

Surely that applies to 95% of all Hollywood explosions?

Says the guy who complains about the amount of damage McClaine takes in Die Hard 4.
