The Box Office Thread

Recommended Posts

Constantine cost (roughly) 115 million (US) to put together, haven't heard any word on the advertising budget.

So how do people thingk it'll do at the box office ?

For reference, here's BoxOfficeMojo's breakdown of pretty much every comic-related movie ever made.

$60-70m range. Slightly better than Hellboy because Keanu's a name, but he's no guarantee to make a film's money back.

I'll probably go with Goodrich, though I'll add that I think it'll do pretty well on rentals, though it's not quite "out there" enough to be a real cult hit.

Prediction for USA and Canada.

It will make more money in foreign countries esp. in Asia due to Keanu's name.

Remember most of the R-rated movies do MUCH better in other countries.

The cost for promotion will not be around $200 mill.

So I believe it will get the money back before DVD and TV.

Again- this depends on the number of theatres positioned for opening weekend around the globe in each country. If we had that info. to tap would be great for speculative purposes. Asian market will be interesting. Keanu is GOD there.

ASIA- $150M

NORTH AMERICA-US ($130M not bad for R rating), CANADA- $90M

EUROPE- $100M

SOUTH AMERICA-?

DVD rentals- ? (repeat viewers/ new viewers)
