Yeah that shocked me as well. But a bigger WTF is the whole "War of Rainbow Rangers Green Lanterns." It's just not very good. I agree with Guy at some point in one of those issues where he yells about wanting his Corps back and everything the way it used to be. I couldn't agree more.

Mine would have to be in this week's Secret Avengers issue, the first by Nick Spenser, where we're introduced to a mutant who has the power to re-enact that awful, awful movie Night at the Museum.

Seriously, "wtf" was exactly what was going through my mind.

Slink - oh, totally. That one was as unexpected as they come.

Also, Namor's dialog in that scene is a big case of WTF.

He's fighting someone called "The beekeeper." No part of that doesn't say "WTF."

Which book was that? I mean, I want and expect something like that from the GLA, for example, but this...? Was this a "serious" Marvel U book?

"Beekeeper" would be a trash-talk nickname for any of those guys from Hydra or AIM or whatever it is with the mesh hats. Probably. And yes, the dialogue seems a bit beneath the standard you'd expect from the... uh, whatever type of nobility Namor is.

The cameltoe seems to be... intentional? I mean, it slipped past the inker, the colorist and the various X-titles editors.

Kind of my point. Or is cameltoe not that big of a deal?

Probably an added bonus, considering how most comics aren't for kids anymore. Also, weren't there some cameltoes before, on some Marvel comics covers, even?

Yes, there's quite a history of artists putting that into art.

I can't think of any specific instances at the moment, but I know for a fact.

It was probably intentional, I doubt that anyone cares about that sort of thing at Marvel anymore.

But, you can't expect much from the editors. Remember, Marvel editors are the ones who let through a Wolverine comic in the mid-1990s where Wolverine refers to Sabretooth as a "notorious kike"...making everyone re-evaluate just how close Logan really was with Kitty.

Yeah, AIM's agents do wear outfits that look sort of like bee-keeper suits.

Shit, I read Uncanny X-Men and I don't even remember that awful scene. It shows just how bad Uncanny has gotten over the years. I don't remmeber the stories, and I just calmly accept such awful dialogue as part and parcel of the comic. I've come to not expect any more.

I'm more disgusted by the fact the page has only three panels.

Botticelli's Venus has one, and I'm pretty sure the original version of the Mona Lisa had one, which is why it was severely cropped by the Louvre. Toulouse-Lautrec was apparently unable to conceive a painting without one.

Now you're just being goofy.

I meant comic artists, by the way...

Yeah. I find Botticelli's Venus quite funny, although of course the humour has dated.

Now you're just being goofy.

"Now"?
