People who liked Smoke

Recommended Posts

Alex De Campi us trying to raise interest & profile for a sequel.

The first series was a fun satirical look at society's body image and health outlook.

There's been quite sad fall out with this project - which had been successfully funded late last year.

Alex is a good friend, I've met James on a few occasions.

They're both decent people, but it seems that the internet has a way of impeding communication in some cases.

I've only two vague memories of Smoke at this stage, the covers 'inspired' by some other artist's work (Banksy ?) and that I had a hard time swallowing the ending.

Putting this here because I can't think of other proper place. If someone wants to tell me of a more appropriate place, I would be all attention and respect.

One thing that pisses me off about modern cry-baby spoilt people, is their belief that their wishes trump common sense.

If someone goes along to a certain place and says "OK, I mean to try to do such and such, you guys probably are self selected (certainly selecting yourselves once you read this then decide to say "Have 2 bucks from me ) to be likely to enjoy reading/playing/viewing the particular work I propose to make, do you now give me a pittance on trust and I will give it my human best attempt" and you agree to the obvious "This deal can have no real powerful obligation" aspect . . .

YOU CAN'T CONSIDER THAT YOU ARE OWED ANYTHING.

Being owed something is not in the fucking DEAL !.

If it was an OWED something deal, it would be called "Come buy this thing we promise to part with for this set price" ( otherwise known as a SHOP ! ) , NOT called "Kickstarter".

I really hate humans, often if not always.

Alex has been put through some unnecessary stress on this (and I'm not going to totally blame James for that, mistakes were made on both sides).

But I think the finished list of artists far outweighs the original plan.

Comics fans are the biggest of the Generation Entitlement [over-used word]s though, I'll give you that.

(If that's what you meant.)

Exactly what I meant. The very essence of it.

I resorted to greater veribiage because that is my thing/I was venting my anger on the winey pricks.

I wasn't bothered in the least by the writer arsing the artist, shit happens and sometimes ways come to a parting.

Oh WOW.

The last big slots on Ashes have been filled. @DanMcDaid is doing the London chapter; Bill Sienkiewicz the painted section.
