Vertigo's adaptation of the late Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy is to be co-written by Denise Mina.

The crime novelist will bring the books to the comics medium for the European market in collaboration with Sylvain Runberg and José Homs.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest will also be adapted for the Japanese market by an unnamed manga team. Artists for the project are yet to be announced.

DC Comics imprint Vertigo is working with Larsson's estate and the Hedlund Literary Agency to interpret each book as a two-volume graphic novel.

I'm not sure what the point of this is. Is there really a huge clamouring for more Girl with a Dragon Tattoo paraphernalia? All this means to me is a longer wait for one of Mina's novels.
