Revisitations 3: The Paul Jenkins Years (1995-1998)

Recommended Posts

I wonder how much of Jenkins' first two issues were informed by what Campbell had planned to come next? If Jenkins was brought in late to replace him, he might have used the previous plots as more than just a jumping off point.

The plot of those two issues was much more Jenkins than Campbell, so I'm thinking if that was the case, Jenkins adapted Campbell's plans, and changed some of the plot details.

I liked the usage of Australian mythology though. I'm a fan of the Rainbow Serpent.

Gwilym-Yeah, Campbell's use of Dashwood gets a lot more points than Jenkins use of Crowley, that's for sure.

I get the feeling that Jenkins was showing his real feelings about Crowley in the story though.

I might make my next Hellblazer walkabout the London of Jenkins and Phillips

These are  worth a read.

I've just observed elsewhere that Jenkins' cast would fit in a very watchable soap opera, which is interesting given that it was once thought that my criticism of Milligan's soapy Eastenders was too harsh. I guess the Crystal Palace lot are just more likable.
