one thing i can predict about Batfleck - his batvoice will suck - his voice is the same as a teenager's. he just doesn't have anything ominous or threatening in his voice, and i'm not saying xian bale's throat cancer mucous gargle voice was cool, either, it sucked, but affleck sort of sounds like a punk when he talks. not very batman.

That tagline is the worst I've read in a loooong while.

I think you may be right. That said, I don't hate it.

Agreed. I want to be way excited but....all I have is not-hate.

I want to see a color photo. Then I shall let my geek-judge loose!

Seconded. Which is a shame, because I don't actually think Ben Affleck would make a bad Batman (and that's quite a nice-looking take on the DKR costume). But after Man of Steel I simply have no interest at all in Zack Snyder's interpretation of these characters.

Eh. I didn't care much for Man of Steel but I am willing to give this a chance.

Agreed. I don't hate Affleck as an actor, but I'm certainly not sure he can pull off Batman. But that's not at all why I hope the film fails.

I haven't seen it, but I'm fairly certain I agree with you here. In addition, I find the whole concept ludicrous.

Why do you hope the film fails?

Mostly because Snyder's lack of understanding of Superman plus his love destruction porn is so great only Michael Bay could love

Why do you hope the film fails?

Because mixing the two different superhero universes makes no sense at all. In The Dark Knight Rises Bane holds the whole city of Gotham hostage for several months, an area with several million (20 mill?) inhabitants. That was a crisis which would have taken Superman all of 5 minutes to solve. With such incredibly powerful beings in play, the opposition needs to be a lot more powerful than Bane and his henchmen for it to make sense.

I see. I thought there were no superpowered folk in Nolan's Batverse and that this new imagining under Snyder would have to be a complete reboot.

I may be mistaken - perhaps you are right, and that they're not related. (I still don't think Batman and Superman mix at all, though)

Oh I mostly agree, and I think they are trying to pack too much into one flick. If this is a rebooted Batman how much time will they dedicate to his story, even though we've all heard it a million times by now?
