  1. Yea its sort of the beginning of the explanation. i think it does have something to do with something being introduced into the morphogenetic field (for more on this check out Morrison's Animal Man). So at this point i guess Yorick isnt really the last man afterall. does this mean the book's name will change?

best line - "Oh god not another robot...."

  2. thats my favorite way to geek out! turn on some ambient internet radio, smoke a bowl and read some new comix! im sooo behind on walking dead. im gonna have to pester SK to bring the new issues to work. the new DD was awesome! i know it was only a month but i missed Mr Lark on art duties. huzzah!

  3. im with you on that one SK. big three first, no question. then lets start talking about Flash/GL. Batgirl should be way down on the list with Aquaman.

overall i dont think theres anything wrong the Ultimates books. most of the time they are way better reads for sooperhero shtuff than the average dcu title or even the Marvel U proper (daredevil withstanding). I admit the newer issues of Ult Spidey lack the pizzazz they used to have, but Ultimates 2, Ultimate Nightmare, Ult FF and Mark Millar's Ult XMen are all really good.

  4. Best - ASS #5....heheh ass.....

Worst - i try not to buy books that suck. but i guess if it came down to the worst of what i did buy...it would have to be A Man Called Kev #3, although that mightve been released in sept.....i dunno time doesnt make as much sense to me as it once did.

  5. All-Star Superman has the big name creator, the awesome ideas, and exemplifies what the All-Star line was supposed to represent.

That team is untouchable. probably the best writer/artist combo in the industry if you ask me.

  6. I think it all comes down to a really smart guy with really neat ideas, trying to translate them into a medium in which he has absolutely no experience. too bad Morrison was available to script this book, im sure he would have jumped at the chance if his place werent so full already.

did anyone see the video of Rushkoff and Morrison at the Disinfo.com convention? it was great once you got past Morrison's unintelligible Scottish accent. these guys are idea powerhouses.

  7. KM - did you read any of the Barracuda arc yet? i know you pick them up in trade, but i cant remember if i lent some of them to you. it wasnt bad...not the best arc but theres plenty of boobies and people getting mauled by giant fish. and the barracuda character himself was pretty entertaining. i still have a big stack of comics set aside for you, ill add the latest Puns to it if you want.

  8. this is one book i really have a hard time not buying monthly. even though some of the dialogue seems forced and the pacing is a little off (rushkoff's never written a comic before), i think there is incredible potential. the main reason i support this book is because of the content. the idea of biblical events recurring through history shows the self-fulfilling prophecies of Man, and the moral implications of worshipping money as a God, just plain appeals to my new world order hating self. the rfid tags being used as weapons against political dissidents may seem sci-fi, but give it a decade. i think he may be on to something here.

if it were a perfect world, Rushkoff would have teamed with Morrison to pull this one off. oh yea and i love how the gods interact with the comic panels. neat effect after smoking a phattie and reading a few issues. i hope this doesnt get cancelled.

  9. i love how Ennis is using recurring characters in this arc. its a nice payoff for those of us who have been following it from the beginning. and considering most of the characters are from my favorite arc, mother russia, i think this one will be a close second.
