  1. Blimey, there's been a bit of an influx of more newbies like myself since I last posted! Thank you for the "friday" quotes, I...have...never...heard...any...of...them...before...(needs more sincerity maybe?)

My handle is the name I sometimes use to sign off certain pieces of art work...derived from the phrase "friday job" which I first read as a kid in the comic 2000AD, way back in the late 80's/early 90's. It was used in a description of one of the leading characters at that time, "Rogue Trooper"...i.e. something put together in a hurry and lacking as a result. Ostensibly it relates to a physical condition but in actuality also touches on the meta-physical. So now you know ;)

It's great that this site is getting a lot of new blood through the doors! Nice.

Oh, and my Avatar is me. Well, the tattoo on my back to be precise!

  2. Hey man, welcome to the boards. Where did you come across Hellblazer? Which issues did you read?

Feel free to go explore the rest of the boards!

Don't shoot, I've got my hands raised...I came by way of the movie trailer. Saw it a couple of nights ago and it piqued my interest. Went to find out a bit more about it this morning and came across a reference to Hellblazer. I followed it up and came across a wealth of info, ending up here. From what I've seen so far I think I've got some serious catching up to do if I want to take this any further!

  3. I wasn't planning on registering or even posting for that matter but after stumbling on the Hellblazer series this morning and spending the rest of the afternoon scouring the Net for as much information as possible I felt compelled to make a comment.

    Amazing.

As an artist and writer, influenced by the occult (excuse the pejorative term), Clive Barker, Francis Bacon, David Lynch etc, etc, etc the character of John Constantine is a revelation and inspiration. The gritty reality, the anti-hero, the epic mythology, the artwork, the cracked veneer of everyday life...all so appealing and so in tune with my own exploration.

    Great stuff.

    Leigh.
