so...he CAN drive an automatic, but doesn't, I guess, LIKE to drive. And I suppose the expense of owning a car and parking or garaging it (he doesn't live in the nicest neighborhoods) and paying taxes and paying for petrol and having a license and all that is just too much trouble. Makes sense. I was thinking he ended up drunk in the slammer too many times to qualify for a license. As for control issues...i dunno. You'd think he's like being in control of a car. You know, going fast, running over perps, stuff like that.

 

I remember the issue of him behind the wheel without a clue. That was fun.

I was rather daunted by the 44 Q & A pages...I tried to use the search function to no avail, so please forgive me if this question has been answered before.

I am new to this title. I've been reading Indies and Undergrounds for 15 years then my husband scored a hotel in San Diego this July. That meant I needed to read up on some mainstreams so I wouldn't be a total fool at the Con. Hubby pointed me toward Hellblazer and The Preacher (because he knows what I like).

So here is my question:

I have read issues 1 - 45 in order and 98 - 139 (with a few skips here and there). I have yet to find out why John doesn't drive. Maybe I missed it in the early issues? Please tell me why (I have many guesses) and if you can point me to an issue number that would be great as well.
