  1. Just re-read it. You're right. John manage to lure Nergal with Ritchie's help into the edge of heaven by making nergal chase him within Ritchie's cyber world. Until Seraphim angels destroyed Nergal. Great stunt indeed.

  2. It's really hard to kill a demon. He was torn apart by angels in HB 12

Hmmm. I need clarification on this i guess. Last i read, those inquisitors (slave twins) are from hell, since they say something about the triumvirate of hades or the lords of hell (lucifer, beelzebub and belial) calls. Plus, they are sort of referees on who will win and loose (Nergal vs. John) basing it on hell's rules of engagement.

  3. " a special guest artist who cannot be named. Could be someone very close to us at this point ..." Bradstreet look

    Haha! Very interesting. :-)

By what i have read so far, Mina seems a good writer. Welcome Mina! :-)

  4. Seems what you read is issue #185 or Part 2 of the 3-part Third Worlds. John has a plan for that hair burried in Eden, he knows from that point that the enemy he's dealing with came from there and if he gets to bury a part of him in Eden - It will be possible for him to summon then fight the enemy (no spoilers). That end goal will be found in issue #190 or Part 2 of the 5-part arc Staring at the wall.

  5. Frusin is a great artist, especially his arts during Good Intentions are awesome. I love the feel of his drawing in that arc, his dark style really fits Hellblazer. But i agree with James (in another thread) and Mark that he probably got bored after all those work in the same title, which in effect affecting his creativity.

But in terms of Manco's peak (let's assume at this poing #205) against Frusin's peak of creativity - will pick Manco hands down. His style compliments Carey's direction. In fact, he's already my all-time favorite 'regurlar' artist, neck to neck with Sean Philips.

  6. David Lloyd did some of my favourite HB art, both in The Horrorist and on the main title. His influence on the style (particularly the texturing and muted colouring) of Manco's recent work is, for me, one of the most gratifying things about the current art team.

What issues did Lloyd draw in the monthly? Quite excited to find and read it, i admire his style. :)

  7. BUT, look at Carey's run.....OK, this happens, but it leads to this which is even bigger, and oh my gosh, here comes THE BIG THING, but wait, that wasn't the worst thing because now this is happening and IT'S EVEN WORSE, whew, ok that seems to be over, but NO! WATCH OUT! It's the Ultimate Evil, but no....that wasn't the Ultimate Evil....THIS IS!

LOL. I kinda really laughed how you put it. :D

I agree to this. That's what i love about Carey though.

  8. okay, chaps, save ot for the IMDB before McBoss comes here all drunk and disorderly and wreaks a can of horrible whoopass vengeance upon your respective behinds.

    Yayks! scary McMahon:(

Anyway, I wish the movie was based on that book indeed (All His Engines). The film could have been acclaimed as topping both The Prophecy and The Ussual Suspects in one film - i mean, it's a question of who has the balls to risk of producing a film that could potentially be the best Con-Dogma-Horror flick ever. All His Engines has the ingredients and potential to be a movie adaptation, but they blew the chance.

Speaking of sequels, in case it will happen. Hope they learned their lessons and listen to the 'real' critics. :)

  9. In my interpretation, Gabriel seems to be jealous and angry at how humans can easily be forgiven by God - in effect, he's convinced and decided to plot against both God and Satan that world of humans desrves a Hell in earth.

He's on for Mammon be released to earth to protect his plot.

  10. Kiefer made a good mindless punk vampire in Lost Boys.  Then he got to fuck around with human life in Flatliners.... guess he's got John's younger years covered

You scored a bingo in terms of background qualities. :)

In the spirit of being feasible and still grabbing a film of potential blockbuster. My vote goes to Ewan McGregor and Sean Bean.

  11. This is a very tough poll.

wolf is quite right though, it's not fair to put up TB.

I'm torn between Manco and Philips, but i just voted Manco - his drawings are too great for my taste, very modern and dogma in my eyes. Him as the current artist also has a bearing for my decision, i really loved the past issues - He's a bit of a salvation to HB. Plus of course - the destined to be classic All His Engines art is his creation - his drawings are like cover quality every page. :) I kinda risked Mark's threat :(

Philips is surely a classic, his drawings improves every issue - the mid Delano runs are great Sean Philips art. Sean surely is ahead of his time, an art like that for a monthly during the 80's is bloddy ace.

Fruisin is ace, his style is quite unique and HB fits that style - Good Intentions Ahoy :) Dillon is also a classic, just like Sean. Dillon as one of the early artist and drawn a lot of HB issues must have earned something, though his art isnt' my taste. I leaned towards Manco instead of Fruisin and Dillon for the wrong reasons maybe, coz it's due to issue #200 - he kinda proves he has an edge over the two, well as far as my personal eyes is concern. :)

P.S. I agree with other's comments that Risso, Ridgeway and Higgins should also be included since the likes of Fruisin is in the poll. :)

HB Special artist David Lloyd anyone? (im biased, just read the Horrorist last night)

  12. Hi Everyone :-)

Well, im the newest of all i guess. A brief introduction:

Im 21, a male (sorry :\ ) though. Got hooked to this new craze HB, not really because of the film, but i kinda bought the last 3 issues. I find it so good. Browsed the synopsis of the first few stories of John in Straight to Hell. Then - Bang!

Here i am. To the forum where my personnality belong. Personally, im predicting myself to be a regular here. You lads are quite awesome tbh, been reading the threads here the past 3 days and its very educational to be perfectly honest.
