Of the IPAs I've had, all bottled, Harpoon's pretty good, Sierra Nevada is a bit weak, and Smuttynose IPA is great, but the rest are often undrinkable.

Guys I just realize that thanks to Garf's work on Hitman and Hellblazer, the Pogues exist within DC continuity. This makes me happy.

I'm going to be in the Holy Land this summer for a few weeks, where I will legally be able to purchase alcohol. I drink somewhat regularly on Sabbath, but the most I've ever had is 2 pints of Tripel ale (I never really got in with the teen-drinking crowd). It's going to be good to go into a bar and order a Sam Adams or Guinness (I've heard you really can't get anything else good in Israel). Then another one. Then another one. Ad nauseum.

Inca, if you do decide to try it, start in 2004 or later.

A lot of the humor in achewood comes from the idiosyncratic ways in which some characters talk and the anti-punchlines, but more than half the strips are funny in a basic joke-making way.
-
Well it helps if you know more about Showbiz but that is a good example of Achewood humor.

That is hell of tubby yo.

Killenger fuck yeah
That opening scene was maybe the funniest bit yet

I've been listening to Clash bootlegs.
For a relatively clean-living man, Joe Strummer can scarcely make it through a wordy verse and get the lyrics right. Still, incredible stuff. The Pogues stuff with Joe Strummer is also better for his presence. Hell of a man.

It's still not accurate.
Well I mean compared to Brown Eye Fist, sure.
But for a non-one shot character, not at all.

I've tried to watch 1 and 2 a few times, but I can't stop thinking about how much I hate all the lead actors.

Royal Blood was a bit cliche, but Garf had some great stuff.
Hellblazer was very early on in his career, I think he matured as a writer while writing it (not that Garf's a mature writer).
He was fine on Hellblazer, but certainly not as good as Delano, and possibly Jenkins.

Lol, high school
Yesterday, before latin class.
Me: So yeah, if you like Tom Wait's later, abrasive stuff, you should check out Nick Cave's From Her to Eternity. He's a bit similar, and also critically acclaimed.
A guy: I think I will
Annoying indie girl who had just walked by: GODDAMMIT! Nick Cave is a talentless attention whore! You just listen to him because you think it makes him cool!
Me (nasally): I guess Nick Cave's too indie for you. Run along now.
Her: Nick Cave is FUCKING NOT indie!
Me: Yeah, you don't even know who Nick Cave is.
Her: SHUT UP! I will fucking kill you!
Me: *Starts whistling Deanna*
Later:
*she walks by*
Me (exaggerated raspiness): ...And THAT'S why the Pogues are my favorite hardcore punk band ever.

My grandfather had a heart thing about a month ago, it was quite frightening.
Well y'know, the American medical system takes care of you when you've got the money. Good luck.

Oh god I am such a nerd I get the Johnny Vitti reference.

Exurb of Boston, I mean public schools as in the ones run by the state that usually serve a town or part of a city and are both free and mandatory to attend up until the age of 16.

You come across as more thoughtful than the average youngling, Vagabond. Fucking good job on making the honour roll dispite the adversities, you have every reason to be proud of yourself. Don't let the barstards wear you down! as the wise man said.
:)
Now get cracking and invent something useful please, I am thinking something to deal with bald spots and gammy knees, or a robot to look after the elderly, forgive my selfish list of wants. :)
Thanks, but I fear that's more a result of the average youngling spending the time I spend reading on sports* than anything else. I don't plan on remaining in the country after, or possibly before college, unless the culture changes radically. I'm in a supposedly intellectual place, and nearly everyone is a 60 dollar polo wearing, Axe-smelling maroon.
*Admittedly, I bike to school, but only because the public transportation in my town is piss-poor.
-
Well I'm going to be taking some history courses from colleges online this summer, and I could easily do AP English.
But the school won't count the history course as equal to their... second year history course, and they won't let me test for AP courses until I'm a junior.

My first real year of high school is almost done, I've made honor roll.
Since fifth grade, I was forced out of the public schools, sent to these special education places where I wasn't even taught to do algebra, regularly physically assaulted by the staff for non-compliance, drugged with anti-psychotics 'til I was fat and stupid, and yelled at by idiot psychiatrists. My family could do very little, although for a while they did sweet fuck-all.
Made it into the public high school of my town as a freshman (I'm basically a grade behind) after threatening lawsuit against the town. Took all honors classes, lowest I got was a B- in geometry (in fairness, I can't really factor well, since I never learned), but the school system doesn't like me because of my history. I've told all the students I was homeschooled. They believe it, since I come off as a bit weird.
So yeah, I suppose my life is better than it's been since I was 9, but I can't wait for high school to be done.
-
I didn't.
I'll have to check that out when I can, thanks.

Fun, but a bit disappointing.
Admittedly the other two were really, really good.
