I just got the first volume of Sandman through interlibrary loan. This will be my first time reading it.

Exterminators and Wasteland. I need to get the trade for Exterminators though...And I'm on the look out for Wasteland # 1.

Okay, I've ordered it but I'm having to start out with # 3. I've read the 21 page preview of number one but I need the spoiler for the rest of the story and a summary of essential information in number 2. Also specifically, what did the letter say in issue # 1?

Anyone here reading Wasteland? I like the premise but I'm not sure if I'm ready to invest in another monthly title. I might wait for the trade.

Is this a necessary read? I saw it yesterday in the comic store but I was in a hurry and didn't get a chance to take a closer look and it was wrapped up in plastic.

Saw this in the USA Today. Sounds interesting but I'm not sure that I will buy it. What are your thoughts, opinions...

I finally got issue #1. If anyone else needs that issue let me know and I'll point you to my source...it's an online merchant whom I know and trust. Not sure how many copies he has though.

Has this at one point or another been posted somewhere else in the past? It's just that I'm either having a severe case of de ja vu or I'm clairvoyant or something. :huh:

Thanks for the link. I read it and it filled in some gaps. Funny how even a stand alone issue run will still have you asking questions...I'm going to get the hardcopy when the third printing is out.

Would anyone here part with Fell issue #1? I can send cash and pay shipping if the asking price is reasonable...or I have the first issue of Testament that I would be willing to trade.

I loved it, it reminds me of why I picked up the comic in the first place.

I finally got a hold of the first issue of Testament. Love the art and the story is good but at this point the transition from the biblical past to the future is still a little awkward. I could see the references but they don't tie in as smoothly as I think they could. Just my 2 cents. But I'm going to continue buying it in hopes that things work out. Like I said, a good story.

So for a newbie what are some other non super hero comics? I mean something without men or women in spandex type of thingy. I'm really loving Hellblazer but you know I want to expand my comic experience. When I was younger I did read Spiderman though and also an issue here and there of Archie. I'm looking forward to Testament which sounds really interesting...I hope it turns out to be good. Suggestions?

Thanks John. Sorry I forgot all about the bio section you put up on the main page. I have no idea why I thought Clarice was a transvestite. The drawings in RSVP look kind of like a guy I guess to me at least. I need to take a closer look and quit drinking while I read :wacko:

Could someone tell me more about Clarice...the person that bails JC out of jail in RSVP. I've only read up to Tainted Love in the trades and I haven't come across her yet. And is she a he? Not sure why I think that

I feel for you The Question. I've had the same treatment from shops like that. Fortunately I've found a decent shop...at least so far. What you need to do is make it very apparent to the owner/management that you will take your business to another store or online. I'm all for supporting the local vendor but only if they are supportive of their customers. And I think it's really cool that you are a female and read comics...be proud that you've broken a stereotype.

I was amused that some people were mad about the presidential "Holiday" card...aren't there better things to worry about. How about "Merry Halloween" from Jack and Sally!

I will hopefully be drunk...does that count as self abuse?

Is there a difference? I'm new to it all so I don't know if I should be telling people that I got into graphic novels or comics. I suspect the terms are interchangeable from reading these forums.
