Well if you strip the ideas of Marx,Lenin and Trotsky down to their most basic components the theory for that period of history were ideal....it was putting it into practise by fucking nutters like Stalin where it broke down. Plus i think the american view of the whole concept of communism is fairly skewed compared to the european way of looking at it. The way Macarthy used the witch hunts and the government propaganda portrayed communists as the big bad bogey men 'who were coming to get ya' have probably scarred the usa populace for good while in europe we have a more real-life way of looking at it since half of europe was communist for a good proportion of the 20th century. I visited Moscow a while back when Glasnost had just kicked in and it was like going back in time forty years. I have been to a few more ex-communist countries in the last few years and a good proportion of the elderly population look back at those years with a good degree of fondness. There was nothing wrong with the ideas...just the people trying to put it into practise.....would it work now ?....not a fucking chance.

This week-end is the Championship decider at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff between Watford(boooooo) v Leeds United(whoowhoowhoo) and the winner gets promoted to the English Premiership. After considerable hassle i have managed to get a ticket and i am going down to Cardiff for the week-end to get absolutely pissed out of my head to hopefully celebrate a win for the mighty Leeds and promotion back into the big league after our ignominious relegation two seasons ago.....wish me luck....eh

Cheers Adrian thats the one. Its a inscription from the side of a old brass medieval bell i've come across. Its decorated with gargoyles and stuff so i think it may have come from a old church or similar....its a beauty.
