Looking good, although I think the guy with the blue face is watching you. 8-)
You know who he is, don't you? He's the guy who wrote The Physics of Superheroes. This was taken at the newspaper office at school. He's giving a talk or something soon.

This is me from a few seconds ago.

This actually happened a few weeks ago, but I've been promoted to Sports Editor at my school newspaper after the previous guy quit/was fired. It's kind of hectic and I'm a little overwhelmed, but we take the paper very seriously here, so I'm really happy.

I'm reading The Stars' Tennis Balls by Stephen Fry. I just wanted to check if he really can write as well as all the other things he does. He really can.
Yeah, that's a great book. Ending wasn't as good as the buildup, but whatever. You should track down his other books.
That's true. And I definitely will. Thanks.

I saw Ang Lee's new film Lust, Caution yesterday. It was a bit disappointing, maybe because I was so looking forward to it. The sex scenes were much more explicit than I thought they'd be. Overall, I have mixed feelings about it.

I turned 18 over a month ago and I still haven't attempted to buy alcohol. I'm lame.

Something really awesome happened yesterday. I joined this trivia quiz league thing at school, right, called Reach for the Top, where we play against other schools and might end up on TV. Anyway, yesterday I went to a practice and one of the questions was:
Coach: Which comic book character was once known as scientist Alec Holland-
Me: *Presses buzzer* I can't believe this is a question! Oh my God!
Coach: Wh-
Me: Swamp Thing! Oh my God!
That's great
See being a comic book nerd does pay off in the end.
Yeah, actually the coach said "Good, we haven't had a comic book expert in 5 years." And then I crumbled because of the pressure.

This is me at the newspaper office at my school, about five minutes ago.

Ya'll missed Grinning Fellow's and my birthday too, but my older brother forgot my birthday too, so don't feel too bad about it.
I didn't!
But I haven't been around here very much and it seems lots of things have happened. Mark broke his leg? When?
-
School starts in one week. I feel sick.
-
Shit, sorry to hear about your troubles Jay. That sucks!
Thanks for all the good wishes! I have no idea how you all missed it. Probably because I haven't been around much lately. I actually haven't had a drink yet despite being 18 for three days. I had lots of pastries and chocolate though.
Good luck with your mustache Apathy!

I turned 18 yesterday, which is actually the legal age for drinking here, but I´m more excited about being able to vote. I had to work work both today and yesterday (I am at work now.) My mom surprised me yesterday by invinting my two best friends to what I thought was just a quiet dinner with her and her friend whose birthday is on the same day.

"Were"?
Isn't that correct? "If I were..."? Subjunctive or something?
-
Maybe it'll look better in the movie. Isn't that what someone said about the tank in the last movie? That they weren't impressed by early promo pics, but liked the final result in the film? Maybe it'll be like that.

Well, not ashamed, just embarrassed.
I still think the second half of that dream, the part in the pet store is very unlikely.
And if I were really gay, I don't think my mom would kick me out. She wouldn't like it, but she wouldn't kick me out.
Last night I dreamed that my mom was moving away to a country in the Middle East. She was also someone's cook, I think.
-
Yes, if that really happened to someone, I would say that it sounded like a bad dream, because it's all very unlikely and totally unfair.
The funny thing is that a few weeks after I had that dream, another girl I know also had a dream about Karen, but this time, that girl was actually gay. She says that her dream was not nearly as weird as mine, though.
I just noticed that I misspelled "wear" in that post. I am so ashamed.
-
Well, I think it looks kind of silly.

Something I learned tonight: the western world is completely obsessed with what the Chinese does to dogs. All I wanted was to find out the name of the adorable breed of dog I saw in a pet store in China last time I was there, and all I've found after googling was loads of hits about dog fur farms and dog meat.

Flood
To see a raging flood with its muddy debris, signifies that you will have much unsettling occurrences and tribulations in life. Your repressed emotions may be overwhelming you.
To dream that you are swept away by a flood, forewarns that someone is trying to use you.
To see a gentle flood, indicates that your worries over a certain matter will be soon be swept away.
I for one, don't buy into dream symbols. I think dreaming is a side effect of our brains "emptying out the trash" every night.
I don't believe it either, but I've had so many dreams about floods, from all the way back when I was about 5 or 6 years old.
-
Does anyone know what is the significance of flooding in dreams? I've had many dreams about floods, including last night.

Deja vu.... Haven't you created a thread like this before, Apoc?
This doesn't need to be answered either, by the way.

I love Apathy's hair.
What's going on with you?

I haven't been around that much, but here's what's been going with me:
I moved out on my own to a little apartment in the city (in a building my mother owns so I don't pay rent), but I go back to my mom's house in the suburbs quite often.
My involvement in the school newspaper has ruined my life. I'm totally and completely failing Calculus, with an average of around 54% at this point, which is just ridiculous because I'm also applying to Yale (provided I actually finish writing the application essay) and plus, I had no reason whatsoever to take Calculus II at ALL.
On the other hand, I discovered that I really like The Smiths.
