  1. Thank you for finding this. I looked back at my collection after seeing Dogpoet' response and then saw John McMahon' post and I now see the scar. I think I became aware of it when I did because Manco and Bermejo drew the scar in pretty subtlety; hell Bradstreet did not seem to acknowledge the scars presence at all. For whatever reason Camuncoli and Bisley opted to make the scar extremely prominent in their depictions.

Once again thank you. This detail bothered me every time I looked at the Milligan/Camuncoli run. At least now it is explained.

  2. Thank you for the compliments.

As I was wrapping up last nights sketch I debated whether to add the scar over the left eye.  I left it out partly because I initially forgot it along with the fact that I did not have a usable eraser on my pencil and did not want to smudge the eye. Outside of that I also was reminded of the fact that the scar did not exist prior to Milligan' run (a run I do not have warn, fuzzy feelings for). This brought me to an old inquiry that I never was able to track down an answer for. Was there ever an explanation for the scar?

I do not remember one and my only thought on it was that DC had their plans in place, when Milligan' run started, of having their alternate DCU proper John and wanted a visual way to differentiate the two. That being said do any of you remember an, in story, explanation for the scar?

    Definitely 1?

Was 2 used for more than six months during the Ennis run?

2 was used for only a short while (#41 -#55). I do not know the history on why they changed it for 15 issues and then returned to the original. Not complaining though as the original was the better (best in my opinion) logo.

To note, I am the most observant person in history. My observation skills are only topped by my modesty, which is clearly better than everyone else's. I dare you to be more humble than I but I digress. I remember being excited to see that the Rebirth series was using the original logo and was optimistic that it was a sign of the titles return to form but I realize now, as I assembled this list, that I was not looking as close as a I should have been and if I had would have seen the ruse and not expected any better of the series. "The Hellblazer"! the title was wrong! How was I so blind.

I am sure I am showing my Hellblazer forum rookie-dum and everyone else here probably noticed this right away but, as stated above, I am the humblest person here so I am willing to throw myself under the proverbial bus. Did I mention I have an odd sense of humor...I didn't? Well I do.

Good news is this means the current title is the first time since the vertigo series for us to get the original title back...so yay.

  4. Tom Taylor is hit and miss with me. I read his run on Green Lanterns: New Guardians and it was alright but I was surprised at how good Injustice was for a book based on a video game. I will definitely give it a shot though with Robertson on art.

I will note that I hate the oversized format. I do not have much space available and the odd size adds another obnoxious dimension to comic storage. That being said, Campbell's Hellblazer work would be amazing to see in large format.

  5. For starters, I am new to the site and I would like to say hello and express how great it is to find a group of people who appreciate Hellblazer and in turn well paced, character driven, horror stories; to echo those who have been posting on the new series, something that has been missing for over a decade. I do not know how I did not find this forum sooner but I am thankful to be here now.

I love this new run and I think this is my favorite issue in it so far. I feel like we are seeing the series start to shake off it's restraints and get it's grip onto the track of what can make a Hellblazer run great. This issue especially had the depth that a solid horror book (like Hellblazer) should have. It was heart felt, sympathetic, and tragic. I felt immersed in the setting and the mood of the book felt almost tangible. Coming out if it I cared more about Noah, as a character, and I appreciate the care Spurrier is taking developing the supporting cast. I, once again echoing, like that this was a one off.

This is the run on Hellblazer I have been waiting for since the Vertigo series ended (since the end of Diggle's run, if I am being honest). 10/10 for me.

Thank you all again for having the forum up and running.
