  1. Hello everyone i'm back. Think i've been missing out alot. I'm really excited about the movie V for Vendetta too. Hope it'll be as good as the comic cus the comic was totally awesome. But i was rather concerned about how closely it's gonna follow the comic after i read this:

"Question 3: This is to the whole panel. I was wondering why Alan Moore didn't sign off for the film.

David Lloyd: Alan has his own view of things. I think that Alan would only be happy with a complete book to screen adaptation of V. My attitude is completely different. All I was concerned with, all I expected and desired, really, from the film, was a very good script, and it is a very good script. I'm happy with it, and that trailer looks fantastic, and as far as I'm concerned, it's good. " from http://vforvendetta.warnerbros.com/.

Does the first two sentences of David Lloyd's reply say something? It makes me worry.

  2. Hey I'd like to try drawing some cards for the deck. Like Hagren, I'll show them if they're good enough or even presentable.

But may I have a link to a website which shows the pictures of cards of a tarot deck for different characters? A website like that will help me in knowing what to draw.

  3. Just get any old job and move out. As long as you don't have to take it up the Gary Glitter from strangers in parks it won't actually be that bad. Most people hate what they do, but you get to clock off and earn money while you look for something better.

Anyway, I went browsing the shops today and ended up getting 3 new tattoos. I think he's done the bottom one a little close to the one below it, but I'm happy. Supposedly, they mean ART -  PROSPER and, ahem, DANGEROUS*. I don't know what order they're in. I don't care. I can't see them, can I?

And I have learned that I run out of the house faster when I hear an ice cream van than if I thought there was a fire.

*I'm running oput of words to pick from, and I think it's funny.

The tattoo's cool. And after seeing that tattoo I realised olden chinese characters have alot more style than modern chinese characters.

I think the fifth character (below the one which means good luck) means more of... kindness and not so much of good person.

Anyway the tattoo really looks great.

  4. Wow whose work is that? That's a great piece of art. That's a gem you've found, Ricepuppy. The artist of that wonderful art definitely deserves our praise, whether it's a cover art or just random artwork.

Anyway I've posted some of my sketches in Show Your Wares, and I hope people give their opinions on it. All comments are welcome! (=

  5. Nice work there! I like the first one. The one of him in his coat and smoking is great. It's well drawn. May I know what pencils you use for your drawing. Are you an artist? Or just a recreational one?

Hope you'll review my work too. It's in the new topic I just posted in "Show Your Wares".

  6. post-401-1121353932_thumb.jpgHey there. I did some of this at home yesterday, and some today in class.

I tried to combine elements of Bruce Wayne into John in the top left sketch.

Dark John, the sketch with words "Dark John" is just a sketch of my idea of John if he becomes crazily evil. I'm aware that Demon Constantine exits. But no, that's different, this is just my idea.

The sketch right in the centre, is adapted from a pic on fanart. I changed it quite a bit, and tried to install elements of Keanu Reeves into John. (Failure though)

    Do have a look. (=

  7. Well 15 is mature enough to read Hellblazer. Haha I'm certain of that.

Anyway, to electricinca: You're an Oasis fan too? Yea you're right, they haven't kept up to expectations in their past few albums. They do produce good hits occasionally, but it has really been quite a while since we heard a classic like "Don't Look Back in Anger" from them.

Their past 3 or so albums aren't really that impressive. They produced a few good tracks in Heathen Chemistry, but that album really can't be compared to their earlier albums like "Definitely Maybe" and "(What's the Story)Morning Glory".

  8. Hi to all. Sorry peeps I didn't know new members were supposed to introduce themselves here. Anyway, here I go then.

My name is Desmond, and I'm from Singapore. I'm an ordinary 15 year-old boy, and I'm taking my O'Levels Examinations this year, so most of my time is spent studying.

I love Oasis's music (though their new album is disappointing). The Goo Goo Dolls and Yellowcard are among my favourite bands too. I like reading and writing poems. I also read all kinds of novels, as long as they have a plot which seems interesting to me. Memorable books are by authors David Eddings, Mary Higgins Clark etc.

I take Biology, Chemistry and Physics now, together with Additional Math, Elementary Math, and Geography. I like art, though I don't take art in school. I enjoy sketching characters and making ambigrams. Hopefully I'll be able to do art next year after I graduate from my current school.

I picked up Hellblazer in a comics store a few months back, and I dare say the Original Sins TPB was worth every cent of my money. Since then, I've been really into Hellblazer. I just finished Dangerous Habits, and it was really... awesome. I'm looking forward to buying the Fear and Loathing TPB, but I'm currently broke.

Hope my introduction gave you a good idea of who I am. (=

  9. Yeap you're right. Singapore is unusually clean, and I only realised that when i visited other countries. I'm amazed you even visited Singapore! Haha.

People say that "Singapore is a "fine" country", because there're notices everywhere, indicating fines for littering and smoking too. These notices can be seen everywhere you go. The cleaners in shopping malls also work extremely hard. I really have to salute them. Smoking is prohibited, and i think one of the reasons is to have a good image for our society. Guess John Constantine will never survive in Singapore.

For me, I go to school for lessons from 7.30am to 3pm on weekdays, but it's still not enough. And many students take extra tuition lessons. To make a mark in academic areas in here, studying just within the school curriculum time is never enough. Students have to be self-disciplined enough to study on their own.

You're right too, working people are always rushing somewhere in Singapore, especially in the mornings and late evenings. They're very competitive in the working world. Their troubled faces and darting walking paces should say it all.

    *Sighs...

  10. Maybe life's more hectic in Japan? I'm not sure. But in Singapore, (if you've heard of Singapore)people work so hard to keep up with the pace of life. A pace that waits for no one. But Singapore isn't even a major well-respected country.

I do have friends who migrate to Canada and Australia, because their parents prefer a more relaxed life, at a "slower" pace too. I would love to escape from Singapore too.

Anyway, I love pizzas and cheeseburgers. I eat at Pizza-hut every now and then, and the pizza's great. Burger King and MacDonalds are very popular here in Singapore too.

    (=

  11. I voted a 6, because that's just what my country deserves.

I'm a Singaporean. I'm certain many of you don't know, but Singapore is a country in South-east Asia. The country is so darn small, it's just a pathetic dot on the complex map of the world. In fact, the dot is so insignificant that it seems to be a mistake if not for the labelling on the map.

I'm 15 now, and life isn't good at all. The reason is a simple one. Students here are too competitive. You can see them studying everywhere they go in the mornings, on the bus, on the train, while walking etc. Well, I study wherever possible too. To excel in studies in Singapore, studying hard is necessary. Life is stressful, and I hardly have free time.

It is true that Singapore is a politically stable country where racial harmony exists, and there is magnificent architecture all around. Tourism is an essential source of income for our country, which explains the great accessibility, amenities, and attractions available.

However, only the local people here will truely understand what life is like here, and what the social culture here is like. Not only for students, life is fast paced and stressful for working adults too. I believe social life is limited for adults here too. Women in Singapore have been marrying later than before based on recent studies, and social changes such as women seeing a successful career as a priority in life over having a family, have been seen as a possible reason for this negative trend.

To sum it up simply, life in Singapore sucks... like a vacuum cleaner.

  12. Oh make fine tunings and edit the font style? It should be possible.

Thanks alot Spain. Well, I am a simple fan. I like doing ambigrams and sketching people. Just started reading Hellblazer 3 months back, and due to some economic constraints, I've been unable to buy more of Hellblazer's comics.

It'll be great if you guys can tell me more specifically what changes I should make to the font style. I'm very sure your opinions are going to help to make my work better! Thanks anyway!

  13. Yea I'll love to see an animated john, at leat just for the kick of seeing a cartoon john constantine.

It's a great idea to have john as a guest appearance in JLA, with him helping the heroes against a villain, who can only be defeated by john's expertise in black magic.

  14. I think a cartoon version of Hellblazer will be really interesting. But if that happens, it better follow closely to the comics.

I agree that many scenes will have to be censored. It's necessary to cater to a audience of a variety of ages.
