I am at this moment 2 things:

I today recieved in the post a freshly minted copy of a graphic novel written by a friend of mine, called Burke & Hare.

"The shocking true story of the 19th century's most prolific and misunderstood serial killers. A ghoulish tale of medicine, murder and money".

 

And in addition to this it has a drawing by me in the gallery section; I'm quite immensely chuffed. Go and buy it. Or at least pick it up in the shop and have a look at it.

How's the sign of emergency exit in USA?

Usually we just have big red block letters that say "EXIT" or "EMERGENCY EXIT". I guess if you can't read English you're on your own.

There is apparently some sort of phenomenon in my life in which I am generally not in the mood/not able to party when other people are, and fully in the mood for a few drinks and some good conversation when everyone else is asleep. Bleh.

I was a complete dork and crocheted a pouch for ice that I could wear. This is only impressive at all because I had no pattern and only learned to crochet a few weeks ago.

On the bright side, he did mention on his forum recently that he's still working with Wildstorm to get more Jones out.

Really? Oh god, I hope so. I hope he gets a better artist though. The traded issues 1-6 with J. H. Williams III were knock out stellar, but I've just read issues 7 & 8 with Danijel Zezelj on art, and I must say that while good, they do not live up to Williams' work. In any case, I am elated to hear that Ellis may be getting back to poor old tortured Jones. 7 & 8 (supposedly parts 1&2 of 6) were out in 2006, so I was assuming we'd never see the end to that arc.

I reckon Desolation Jones 1-6 were amongst Warren's best work. Yes, issues 7 and 8 got published, but the mythical issue 9 never appeared. (Surfuckingprise!)

Sigh. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised either, but still.... Bastard!

Doh! Stupid me. Ah well. Sadly, I had no idea what it was when I bought it. The cover was interesting, the art was appealing, Chief & I both like Warren Ellis, and it looked like something Chief would like. Amusingly, when I found it, I had gone into a shop I didn't even know sold comics, looking for classy smut for Chief's birthday. No worries. The smut was there too.

I've a question I wasn't sure where to put, but as it pertains to a comic I've recently read, here it is. I picked up a TPB of Desolation Jones, which I now feel a bit sheepish about. It was meant to be a birthday gift for Chief, as it looked like it might be up his ally, which it was. Thing is it turned out to be even more up mine, which makes me feel selfish instead of giving. Oops. In any case, the TPB collects issues 1-6. I have heard rumors that there are at least a 7 and 8, but that they are not available in the US. Is this true? If so, anyone know how I can get my greedy little hands on them?

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I know the specific heat capacity of water is quite high in relation to many other consumables, that being why the sauce on pizza will burn the roof of your mouth while the crust won't, even though it is the same temperature.
