Finally going to get around to SHOWCASE:DOOM PATROL Vol 1. Pretty psyched for that..

Still Im pissed that DC havent gotten SUICIDE SQUAD in Showcase form...Anyone now whats the status/reason behind this absurd delay?

The bastard returns. Ive been away for some time. My first post back Hellblazer 215. RSVP Part 2. What can I say? Whilst there was times I wasnt on Mikes bandwagon. His last four arcs (Which can be seen as one mega arc really) won me over. Its been a wild ride. We've seen John fucked up , scared and for once on the losing side. But like they say when you hit rock bottom the only way out is up. RSVP was a story I really enjoyed. John giving the magicians a little taste of fire was brilliant. To all involved espically Mr Mike Carey "Mission accomplished".

My personal favourite scene of Constantine interacting with the DCU super-crowd comes from Sandman #71. It's at Morpeus' wake - he just wanders past Dr. Occult and the Phantom Stranger, gives a nod and raises a glass of wine, and says "Nice trenchcoat". Dr. O responds with "Thanks". Nicely understated, and very funny.

John's teamed up for the lack of a better word with Morpheus, Swamp Thing and even Tim Hunter. My question is simply this which other DC characters has John had a brush with then? Ive heard he met Batman once? Is that true if so where can I get that Issue?

So whats John's biggest defeat? I think its Newcastle event. His biggest victory The First of the Fallen. Twice in Ennis's run. Your thoughts?

They need to split for good or get into some heavy counselling. I know people who have lived like that for years and I really don't see the point of it. Hey, I know marriage is no 24 hour picnic, but getting along with your partner and keeping yourselves in touch with a healthy sex life whether your 19 or 50 makes a world of difference. I think they both need a good shag.

 

 

now i DEMAND a single issue where Chas and Renee (or maybe just Renee?) go to a marriage counselor, and talk about their marriage, with short little 2-3 page flashbacks to milestones in their life concerning John Constantine (remember, Renee dated John or a brief while)... How he both ruined AND saved their marriage on numerous occasions... maybe have the counselor revealed in the last panel as FOTF, or some such adversary (Rosacarnis?), then use the caption to announce the next big storyline...

 

think about it! you could have John as a punk shagging Renee in the back seat, with Chas dricing, you could have the story of how the two of them got together (maybe with a little Cyrano de Bergerac-style help from John...?), their wedding day (where John shows up on their honeymoon night to have Chas drive him to the airport, since he needs to go to Louisiana ASAP), maybe a story of how he gave a boon, a magician's gift to their child (Trish, was it) when it was born, kinda like a fairy godmother, then maybe some of the events already seen in HB, but told from her perspective, like when Chas had to drive that MINI minicab in Dangerous Habits, or when John told them it was going to be the end of the world in Fear Machine, and they both believed him. Maybe have her talk about the time he was in thr USA, and they all thought he was dead, how she breathed a sigh of relief, but was still certain that he'd come back to bite them on the ass somehow... maybe have them talk about how Chas would go all sour and grumpy whenever he had a huge fight with John (Fear And Loathing/Tainted Love... How To Play With Fire)... a few little flashbacks that would show all facets of John - humanity, conman-side, the evil manipulating bastard in him, the ordinary guy down the pub, the man of mystery, the powerful mage...

Ive read some of this stuff. Im thinking seriouslly about getting the trade. I read the first few issues.

In the advent of recent events it probably wont happen. I do believe that Giffen and DeMatteis should every year do a six issue mini with DC' characters. I laugh till it hurts with these two and the great thing is they dont superheroes seriouslly. For pete's sake they are wearing spandex.

Wow things are dark lately. They make Beetle semi-cool only to blow his brains in the last page? Wow. Well there goes the Formely Known as...team all to hell. Max Lord to the darkside. Wow. He was a bastard in his first appearance killing a terrorist but wow. First he is all like go humans but his a meta. Wow. DC was looking good till I saw this...maybe they surprise me. Im thinking of getting OMAC.

Warren Ellis is a Writer with a capital W. Planetary is just awesome. Yes there is the slow decompressed state but I still feel its one of the best books in the past twenty years. Lately the only other thing of his to really wow me was is ORBITER. His Iron Man and Ultimate Nightmare are average at best to me.

What in your guys opinion is the best five things Ellis has written?

For a newbie maybe a one shot Andy Diggle. In terms of returning Neil Gaiman would be great but I would really like to see Morrison return to the title.

I've read # 0. Shining Knight # 1 and The Guardian # 1.

#0 is just 10/10 stuff they should bottle that kind of comic and put it on toast. It hits the spot. Groundbreaking and genre changing.

The Shining Knight was average at best but does end on a high. Awesome art I might add.

The Guardian is my favorite right now SEAGUY team reunites to present us a wild ride into Grants Warped trully warped brain.

Im late on this review. I gave the issue a solid seven. Cammo's a good artist just not a 'Blazer artist I fear. More suited to the capes stuff I feel. Carey gives Chas the spotlight and its about time. Not since Ennis have we seen so much of Chas Internal thought process. Well done to Carey.

I feel Nergal is screwing John over by getting him to go to hell and also take on the Constanteenies. Me personally I cant await for John to return to Hell who knows perhaps a family reunion i.e Johns Father and Cheryl meet in hell. Plus Im pretty sure The First of the Fallen will rear his ugly mug again. All in all its good times ahead.

Just of one of things then. It really made me think Demons can be pricks.

in #196 the one where OUT OF SEASON ends I think. Anyhow theres a season where John attends ROSACARNIS's feast as it were.

John encounters a demon with a dogs arse for a face ugly bastard who stands up and says "NERGAL WAS MY SWORN BROTHER". ROSACARNIS then tears him a new asshole and subsequently kills him. My question arises here

Oi. The prodigal bastard returneth. I read #205. HELLBLAZER remains aces in my book. Mike Carey is writing a great story I just wanna see more of the THE LAUGHING MAGICIAN. With all the Amnesia Alternate Worlds # 200 Johns shaken. Its time he takes the problem and rips it a new asshole if you know what I mean.

Gemma is growing up and Im coming to accept that she is going to be around for a long time. Her mom on the other hand....Thus arises my question...WHY THE FUCK IS SHE IN HELL. Did JOHNs sis shave babys wrists or something?
