  1. There're a couple of Delano stories coming out in the Rare Cuts trade, due out in Jaunuary (#11 - Newcastle: A Taste of Things to Come and #84 - A Different Part of Hell), but that's it for the foreseeable future. Colour me pissed off - I love Delano's HB, I do.

Come on, DC. Collect the Family Man arc...go on. Ah, go on, go on, go on....

Ahhh THE FAMILY MAN I that was awesome. The bit in the fields with the cows.

    Ahhh

  2. Chas looks like chas. But John is older in one pic and younger in  the next. WTf? Demon Constantine?

John's children are having fun and is panicking the plot device that will destroy them eventually?

    Yeah I noticed that too.

If u look at some pages in #200 In one "lifetime" STEVE DILLONs one he has a paunch of fat in the beggining and losses it towards the end?

    Hey Ahkira.

  3. The dog's death, on the other hand, is one of the most poignant and touching scenes I've seen in a cartoon, ever. Futurama really did do these things so much better than the Simpsons have come close to in years...it's a crime that it got cancelled, while The Simpsons continues to limp on, years past its expiry date.

True that. True that. Futurama was cutting edge satire. Simpsons has had it ups and downs. Futurama less downs more ups. Futurama's ending is our loss.

    :icon_2gun:

  4. The only comics I get individually are those which I can't go month to month without reading (Lucifer etc.) and those with a seriously patchy trade programme (Hellblazer).

    True that.

I get HELLBLAZER monthly not only on it's merits but becauses of DC's unique trade programme of the title.

If you can survive the wait then trades are really worth it. I do feel some comics read better as trades though. One can also see how some writers write for trades. They write thier arcs in which it is best read in strory-arcs. I feel 100 BULLETS and FABLES are good examples of this.

So to answer. it does depend on the title.

    WE3

Anyone on for Vanarama or SEVEN SOLDIERS?

I am unsure about Vanarama. But hey its Bond right?

Definitely on for SEVEN SOLDIERS, I have a feeling it's going to great.

  5. I am huge fan of Warren Ellis not so happy he is selling out at Marvel though. I have been eyeing out those two trades of his run.

HAUNTED and SETTING SUN. Can anyone give me a non-spoiler synopsis on Ellis run. I dont know anything about it. I did read that Jiminez "SHOOT". So I take it the creative differences issue made him leave? Pity. Let me ask, is (Ellis run) any :icon_2gun: good? :icon_twosgun:

  6. The only one from the trippy sequence who didn't appear (to my recollection) was Triskelle, the snakebone demon, and I reckon that's more the editor's fault than anything else.

I am intrigued. Who is she and which issue did she pop in? Any cool story on her.

Also, the trippy sequence specified a five-day time limit but this storyline is set six weeks after Staring at the Wall (and therefore about five weeks after Happy Families).

    Whoops. My Bad.

The Phantom Stranger? He seems to be able to do whatever the writer needs him to do. Most of the time he just seems to float around in the background of other peoples' stories and give cryptic clues now and again (like a much more pretentious Constantine).

    :p

  7. HELLBLAZER#202.REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL. A lame prediction.

I am going on a limb here but I predict that Carey aint gonna kill a major supporting cast member. Secondly That Evil Twin of John. What is he, the "Evil John" with the crimson right, eh? Anyway He is the answer I feel somehow.

    SPOILERS

I keeping thinking about that trippy sequence in a previous issue, where the FIRST and THE TWIN are in a circle and talk how they are in his future. Plus THE PHANTOM STRANGER bit. I think that will pop once more before the four-parter is over.

:icon_2gun: Can somebody tell just what the hell is the guys powers if any. I hear a lot of talk but never see him do anything. :icon_twosgun:

  8. Thanks for clearing that up, James.

Fucking Hell. My head hurts a bit. His God's conscience.

You think Carey's gonna bring back the first after this ROSACARNIS issue?

One Final question just how old is Uncle Conjob? What 50 or so? Then why do they draw him like his in his late thirties?

  9. it IS Parralax! His face is not hjite, and there are those white stripes on his costume.

He is now a triple personality - Spectre/Hal-GL/Parralax. i just hope he doesn't pull a Critical Mass trick and separates his good from his bad... so we'd get both Hal and Parallax running around the DCU

Right on, brother. I liked Issue one. But I get a funny feeling we are going to see some lame splitting of HAL/SPECTRE/PARRALAX. Van Scivers art is pretty solid. Look forward to #2. Saw a post on DC boards S.C.A.R: Still Crazy After Rebirth: Go get 'em killer.

  10. Thanks James. There's another problem festering in the brain, The First of the Fallen. Now if he is the first then SANDMAN has LUCIFER right. Now my question is is the first THE DEVIL or A devil. Who is the true king of hell LUCIFER or the First?

  11. BEST AND WORST OF 2004.

Worst Film: Troy. That a fews of my life I can never get back. Shit I was whipped by my girl to see that crap.

Best Film: A tie. KILL BILL both Volumes. And LOST IN TRANSLATION.

Worst TV show: Insert reality-Tv show here. Hell that's what passes for TV today. Shit but there are a lot of voyeuristic bastards living through other vicariously hey!

Best TV show: OZ Final Season. Just like a juvenile offender I keeping come back to this jail. SHIELD. Fuck every episode solid. SOPRANOS Every third episode is pretty solid.

    WORST Band: Insert

BEST Band: Local band in SOUTH AFRICA: 340ml. A great dub-regae/rock band. You guys have got to hear this. I am serious. I here they are planning to tour Europe next year. Amsterdam or something.

INTERNATIONAL Band: The scots have landed. Franz Ferdinand. I know they are kitch but I think they are pretty good. Here's to 2005.

The year the world Keanu will destroy Johns hard work. Fuck I still get nightmares.

    :sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

  12. #202 Solid Issue. "Event Horizon" reminds me of the old Japenese Horror films.

I know this is off topic but please forgive me.

About the Cover Tim. I think it aces to uses some digital camera effects, but its a thin line that one can cross from brilliance to crap. Now as an artist I am sure you constantly wanting to learn new techniques and ways to break the convention. In your personal opinion do you think that this CGI mode of comic books is a fad or the future. ADI GRANOV is doing IRON MAN completely CGI. I never thought I would see that. I remember CHUCK AUSTEN'S WAR MACHINE. (I see a pattern). McKeans SANDMAN/THE DREAMING cover were a great use technology. Can we expect some more experimental covers in HELLBLAZER?

Keep up the Great Work

  13. Help me out here. Okay this blood transfusion thing right. In Dangerous Habits The First "rebuilds" Johns body right. The blood has helped John in the Past. So my question is I am sure the First noticed the blood thus why didnt he reconstruct Johns body sans uber-blood?

Seperate Question In Careys HIGH ON LIFE Angie got a dose of Nergal's blood. What does this mean for now? And will Rosacarnis sense this aswell?

    :icon_2gun:

    WE3

Absolute Brill. I am so feeling WE3. Grant not only breaks conventional storytelling but shows us not what comics could be but what they should be. We3 isnt afraid to take risks and as we see it pays off nicely. So many creative teams stick to a formula. These guys come up with there own.

The really great thing about shocking sci-fi such as this is that there is that possibility of it actually happening. And that is the truelly frightening thing.

Cant wait for #3. Heres to Bandit and Tinker killing that WE4 and who knows maybe Rosanne walks off into the sunset to look after the surving animal. My bets on the cat. Damn this mini is awesome. :p

  14. Damien here. I found out about this forum through a friend. It's pretty cool. I have been collecting the Laughing Magicians exploits for the past five years or so. I own most of the trades and have loads of the singles issues.

I live in the urban jungle of South Africa. I speak English, Afrikaans and Portuguese. I am in early twenties. I dont know why but I am like one of three people who buy Hellblazer at my local comic shop. Instead they buy XXX-Men and the like. I am looking forward to talking about the comics.

By the way heres some of my faves.

Best Author on Hellblazer: Garth Ennis. Beats Delano by a pens length.

Best Artist: I know not many will agree on this one but I really enjoyed Sean Phillips.

Best Story-Arc: Dangerous Habits and Rake at the Gates of Hell.

Favorite Supporting Character: Ric The Vic beats Miss Ireland Kit by a collar.

Favorite Villian: A tie between the First and Nergal.

See ya. (or at least your posts) 8-)
