Clowes, yes. His ideas and art are the work of superior intellect.
Robert Crumb deserves strong consideration.
I also love the work of Dave Collier. Very thoughtful and compelling in an everyman sort of way.
ditto on Moore and Morrison
How about Gaiman? Great storyteller. Well researched. Well read on the classics. Genius?

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
Ha!!! That's the first thing that comes to mind whenever I'm asked to state my name. The kids and I watched that this afternoon. It was a perfect rainy afternoon movie.
I am Toney Randazzo. And I am dazzling. And I call Lou K. - Loucious.
And I drink my whiskey on the rocks. I like my steaks med-rare. My wife Amy is my best friend. I hate cutting the lawn. I like doing laundry, but hate folding it. And as far as serial goes make mine raison bran (or raison d'etre).

Haha, yeah Tony B.
It's rye and it's good, really though.
Only good with ginger ale on the rocks. The fruit of the vine gots me tonite. wonderful oregon Pinot Noir and a pretty fuckin good $2.99 Nero D'Avola from Itly. All the while I'm contemplating what I'm gonna say to the president of a local university and 150 of his high donor guests at a wine tasting I'm doing for him thursday. Any help?

I saw Beerfest. It wasn't as good as Super Troopers, but it was better than Club Dredd and Puddle Crusier. I laughed quite hard a few times at things I knew I really shouldn't be laughing at. It was thouroughly entertaining.
:D Super Troopers < Club Dread, sounds like a must see for me. The plot is centered around beer and beer drinking how could it not be good?

Just finished the (almost) whole shebang. I really enjoyed Klarion, Frankenstein, and Zatanna and ish #0 was brilliant. Now I can't wait for #1.

I'd buy it!
"Three Levels of Lou, Steel Cage of Doom!"
Damn, this just screams for some photoshop!!!

The trailer looked very good, I've added it to my list of upcoming films to see.
Yeah, I saw the trailer today. Are we Americans so dense that we don't know who Brian DePalma is? The trailers and even the poster refer to the "director who brought you Scarface and The Untouchables". What's up with that? Anybody going to see Beerfest? I find those Broken Lizard guys hilarious.

Ahhh, to be three again. Cherish these times little Lou.
Charlie we should get our Lous together sometime (mine is four). Perhaps we can invite your brother over and have them ambush him. Or we could stage a three way Lou steel cage match. I bet we could make some money from the pay per view.

What is cream stout, anyway?
Healthful, nutricious, and good for nursing mothers. It is stout with the addition of lactose which is an unfermentable sugar. Since the lactose doesn't ferment out it leaves the stout mith a creamier mouthfeel and a slight sweetness. Watney's was/is a prime example. Dragon stout is as well.

Is it wrong that I find that arousing?

I was just wondering when the new Kondek child was due. Congrats Charlie, glad to hear everyone is happy and healthy. You and the missus are in for a world of fun with two boys.
We call Joey (almost 2) monkey see, monkey do, cause he is right behind Louie doing whatever he does - for better or worse. At a gathering the other day Lou was taking a toy from one of our friends kids and he gave him a little kick in the shin. As I was disciplining him, I turned to return the toy and have Lou apologize, and what should I see but Joey giving the poor kid another kick in the shin. It was like big time wrestling where one guy distracts the referee while the other guy mauls their opponent.

the worst part is now when i see a little kid around that age,for the past few weeks i tend to think...i could take em.
This is the funniest fucking thread I've read in a while. My stomach aches from laughter. Two of my kids are on each side of 5 (Livvy 6, Lou 4 (Joey coming up on 2 isn't a factor)) I swing Louie around by his ankles all the time and It's not as easy as you think. Five minutes of that would tire you out. I don't think I could chuck Livvy more than 3 or 4 feet. It would have to be all about the "critical strikes".

I agree that the Lex Luthor mini-series wasn't as great as everyone makes it out to be. It started out grand and quickly ran into the ground. I avoid Brian Azzarello comics anymore. The art was indeed lovely.
Yeah, Azzarello has a habit of that.
Perhaps with Heath Ledger as the Joker they will be reapplying the Batnipples and exploring the homo-erotic tension between Joker and Batman.
Seriously though, I don't care who they cast as long as they keep moving forward in terms of quality. The last film was good. Now if they can just keep getting better.

Story first, but the art must be outstanding too. Though I have bought plenty of books by a writer I've never read simply because the artist was one I liked. But I won't buy that writer's efforts again if it sucked. The exceptions being Ellis, Ennis, Morrison. Not being a fan of Seaguy, Tokyo Storm Warning or Goddess has not influenced my opinions of the writers themselves at all. And the art was decent in all 3 of those horrible stories.
Spidey, I'm glad to see I'm not the only Morrison fan who hated Seaguy. Who doesn't have a stack of crap with good enough art to get you to purchase it once? A good writer is essential otherwise it is all BAM POW WHAM with no substance (sort of like a Nick Cage movie).

DC all the way, baay-beaay!!!
Jingle of the day No.2
I'll second that. Vertigo is looking thin these days. My #2 is Drawn and Quarterly. I really like Optic Nerve even though it seems at times like it was made for mopey teenage girls.

The Clash - Police and Theives (although the original is tremendous as well)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - Dancing in the Dark (I fuckin hate this song and I'm a diehard Bruce fan, but this version has all the pain and loneliness that the lyrics intend)
Marilyn Manson blows Sweet Dreams. He also similiarly fucks up Rock n Roll Nigger by Patti Smith.
