Haha I hear you

just watched The Phantom and The Shadow while I was snowed in. Man, these marvel movies look good but a lot of them are not that well constructed as movies. I thought both of these were pretty great, had that pulpy/radio serial feel.

Damn, we've gotten 95 inches of snow this winter http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/02/16/boston-within-a-foot-of-snowiest-winter-in-citys-history/
-
I've lived here like 17 years and never seen a winter like this. There have been blizzards where we got like 2 or 3 feet of snow, but this has been a 2 foot blizzard, a 1 foot blizzard, a 6 inch blizzard, another foot, probably another foot. Just every few days another 5 inches or more of snow. They're talking about a whole month to get the trains running fully again!

maybe this is fine if you''re Red but fuuuck. the snowbanks are like up to 6 feet high here, this is reportedly the most snow that's been on the ground in boston since 1717 or something. not a single thaw yet. subways have stopped running outside the underground parts, city's come to a halt.

I'm starting to think I'm being mocked here.

Recorded the last verse on this album bout an hour ago, gonna record some background tracks today and send it off to the engineer. Came out way better than the last one, ended up doing my own singing and some of the production. It's gonna feel like it's more 'personal' even tho the lyrics are much less personal, hahaha.

Maybe you had to be there.

Wow, they're making it a romcom.

I like it despite itself, he goes too far with the on the nose monologues IMO. not saying sandman's not worth reading but he could use an editor.
-
but yeah keep us posted that sounds like some major surgery hoping for the best
-
uh...no it doesn't

yeah partly for the art but partly cause it was so damn gaimany
-
so next week's the possible last episode ever, huh?

this is when
honestly lucifer holds up a lot better than sandman does. sandman has the comic book equivalent of the gated echoey snare on 80s alt rock records.
Isn't namedropping Tori Amos all the way through the second half more of a '90s thing?
well her snares are pretty echoey too haha. guess she can feel it coming in the air tonight
oh lordI think the moment when sandman starts really dating itself to me is the spoken word scene in issue 5 or wherever.

I dunno. I used to think journalism but it's so hypercompetitive and I'm really not that into it. I'd like to do video editing but I don't have any connections. My 'professional network' is kind of shitty overall cause I keep to myself and don't like people. but hey, maybe music'll pay the bills.

thanks bruv. honestly not looking forward to graduating the way the job market is in the states but what can you do.
-
excuse me, the graphic novel equivalent

trying to make this move to philadelphia this month. got some friends there, things cost about 2/3 as much as boston. all my classes this semester (which is my last semester) have online options, so I can just come back to boston for my show and to graduate then go back to philly. only problem is most of the good places I see on craigslist go before I can get there.

Dropsie Ave by Will Eisner...pretty great stuff if you're into american cities.
I love Grant Morrison, but...

So much this. Society of superheroes and the watchmen one were both really well constructed, this one I was reading it and I was like "damn, I'm halfway done already? He's still introducing the characters". Had its moments but probably the weakest issue so far.
