  1. I'm going to see it a at least a couple times just because I always see Keanu's films more than once. Then I'm going to count the "nopes" in these polls and go with friends enough to cover them. Then I'm going to buy a ticket, not use it, and mail it to Tom with lipstick kisses all over it.

  2. Oops...you edited that in after I started to reply....what you say makes sense but I keep coming back to the fact that the studio - the guys with the money - want a PG13 movie.

They were the ones who wanted a Yank Constantine living in LA too.

Well, maybe Francis actually got over on them? He taunted it in those early interviews.

Btw, Krix did you audition for the part as "Hott vampire chica"?

I'm waiting for the nice man with the couch to call me back.

  3. Well, according to this link to a blog by an extra

    http://suicidegirls.com/girls/Stasia/

it's not a hot tub it's a hot CLUB. With vampires. There's not a lot there (she calls it "keanu reeves movie" rather than Constantine) but if she's not just making it all up (every day a different job as an extra), then...interesting.

Thanks to krix for the link.

I just found it in the IMDB thread about the rating/reshoots that was originated by our old friend Matadoor who quoth: "Reshooting scenes since receiving the "R" rating. It is going to be even more intense and suspenseful with the edge that the fanbase is looking for. "

Which, as unconventional as it may sound, it certainly sounds feasable. Flick gets screened for MPAA->Gets R rating->there's no way that X, Y or Z is going to be cut for PG-13 (which was probaly never really wanted by the director anyway) ->So why not juice it up even more?->Reshoots ensue, including hott vampyre chicas.

Which is not to say that "the fanbase" were looking for hott vampyre chicas. Think of that as a bonus.

Oh, and it makes more sense to me that you would reshoot for an R. To tame a picture down you'd maybe just do more cutting. Cut away before the blood, sex, "fuck" etc.

  4. They should be working. They are mostly hosted from Australia, in case that has ever given you problems in the past.

Yeah, I downloaded some of that Joe Brown from the last board and quite liked it.

It's probably a combo of my slow dialup connection/ firefox* pop-up blocker/ general stupidity on my part. I finally found the way, but something still screws me up (I like a 'right click/save' option) but I'm going to try again when I get home today (no sound at work). I really want to hear Monster.

*which answers your question in another thread

  5. Man, I'm listening to Vibemerchants and I really like your guys' sound. It seems to me you have a sound that could be described as a garage-ish Velvet Underground. I like that.

EDIT: favorite track is "Always On" and I like "Knock Me Down."

Thank you :) Everyone will be thrilled to add VU to the list.

I haven't had a chance to listen to Spiderlegs yet. I tried some of the links but they went nowhere.

And I love me some Bedford Falls.

  6. Paul McC. kicks ass. When I was taking lessons my teacher gave me some Beatles and while sometimes not very complex (others, eek!) the lines are brilliant.

I've always loved Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes.

Tina Weymouth is also amazing, if you get a chance to watch Stop Making Sense, watch her play.

I also love the bassplayer for Cake, whose singer by the way, is the FUCKING SPITTING IMAGE of John McMahon. I saw them on TV a week or so ago and freaked out a little bit.

  7. Re: Dead Flowers

Don't get me wrong, I like the Stones' version of it well enough, the best part being the great guitar that meanders through it. But the bass line is boring, and for some reason, even though Dave is an extraordinary lead guitarist, they both play it pretty straightforward. Plus neither of them is/was a junkie so it loses some of the charm.

I find our version of it excruciatingly boring.

    Re: my ass

    No.
