  1. Ok quick sit-rep to bring everyone up to speed.

As far as can be determined both tracks seem to be ok (.mp3 file extensions) and play on Windows Media Player. The problem seems to be when we try to import them into PC Studio 3. Whenever we attempt to import them the whole programme locks up and crashes.

Next step will be to attempt to reinstall PC Studio to ensure it has nothing to do with a bad install.

    Any other tips/advice is welcome.

  2. I've been trying to buy all the individual issues from the Essential Punisher.  So far I've got Amazing Spiderman #129, the Daredevil ones, and Vol. 1 #1-5.

Thought about buying the individuals at times but usually other stuff to spend money on. I will one day buy AS129 but that will be the Holy Grail and will never get read. I have reprints(Marvel Tales I think) of some of the issues featured which I can now probably give to others.

  3. 99% of the time I hate celebrities and their shallow lives and the whole media/PR machine, but I am constantly fighting the 1% of me that has to have a shallow celebrity fix every now and again when I feel depressed and pointless....somehow reading about the tedious antics of 'celebrities' in their little PR created bubble worlds cheers me up.....god knows why.

Maybe there's a shallow born-again Christian celebrity inside me trying to get out.  :D

Or maybe you are just amused by the ridiculous antics and can't believe that people would actually do such things. I know I am often amused and bemused by them.

Who can forget the Jacko Oxygen tent, Liz Hurley's dress, bloody Chantel & Preston(probably more of a British one that) or most celebrity weddings. All leaked/given to the media as publicity. Even bad publicity is publicity.

Remember there is only one thing worse than being talked about and that is not being talked about.

  4. I just got the feeling that The Beastie was going to be revealed to be the universe itself, ....

What makes you think that I'm not?

  5. Yesterday went comic shopping. (And to a couple of pubs.) .....

Meanwhile I bought Daredevil - Redemption, Essential Punisher, Punisher - Born and Cerebus Vol 1 (as superb as I remember)

I have to say that sometimes I really am embarassed to be part of the comic buying world. The level of geeky nerdness was so high in the shop I nearly passed out. Of course I was a little drunk which I think intensified the whole thing.

  6. It would seem to me that voting in this poll would be to actually acknowledge that Jay & Christian have some power and dominion within the forum.

Saying that just by reading this and responding maybe I am giving them that power.

    Damn it. :icon_evil:

I always think of the consequences of my actions too late.

Damn you both. Damn you both to Hell

  7. I dated a cutter once. That's really all I can say about the situation...

    Mm. Fun, isn't it?

Wonderful fun!!! All that cleaning up or late night trips to Casualty. I really miss those.

Luckily(?) one day she cut so deep she actually scared herself out of it (it's amazing what seeing your own fat cells will do :o ) and since then she hasn't done it again to my knowledge.

  8. If you want to mix a drug with alcohol, stick to marajuana. You might throw up, but that's as severe as it gets.

This is from very recent experience (ie last night)

    Classic quote from Pooka yesterday

I may pass out at some point but you can do what you want

Unfortunately I couldn't convince her to put that in writing so just decided to go home early.

  9. Ok here's the beasts of The Beast

    and finally Esso

Dodgy quality due to them being taken on Pooka's phone but hopefully you get the idea.

Before anyone asks I love them all equally and don't have a fave *looks round and checks* "Ok esso definitely"

  10. Ah yes Earthshock, didn't the last episode of that have a silent credits sequence with Adric's broken shiny badge in the background? Enough to make you wipe a tear from your eye

    Indeed it did. Most solemn.

Of course they maybe just realised everyone would be cheering so much they could save themselves the time and expense of putting the music on the end.

  11. My personal opinion is that all unwanted sexual attention, whether it goes as far as rape, a quick grope/kiss or even constant unwanted sexual references should be reported. In this way people would hopefully understand that this type of behaviour is wrong and in some cases maybe educate the perpetrators before they go too far.

It always saddens me to hear people saying that there is no point reporting it as nothing will get done. If everyone thought this then nothing would ever be legislated against. The more people (not just female) who report this stuff the more people will realise the magnitude of the problem and the more likely it is that the governments of the world will sit up, take notice and take action.

If politicians realise there is interest in it they will try and get something done. Obviously they may be trying to use it to further their careers but if it gets through then who cares.

In this particular case it is unfortunate that very little is happening but with any luck his wife may find out about it and then he really will have problems.

    Just my opinion.

  12. I clearly have some kind of phobia, as I discovered today.

I met The Beast for lunch, and discovered my fork was dirty. Ever the gentleman, Beastie offered me his fork.

"But what will you eat with?" I asked.

"I'll use the fork after you." he replied.

Just ask him how horrified I looked.

And don't get me started on touching stuff that's been on the floor outside. I know what a dog might have done to it!

Very true. Of course she doesn't have a problem with me touching her eyeball. (It was just the once and we were quite drunk :) )

They feel strangely warm and slightly squishy if anyone wanted to know (Waits for the retching to start)

As for the blood question I really don't see a major problem. Many people order steaks rare and plenty of people eat black pudding so why should this cause so much of a problem.

  13. There was a lot of good stuff in the '80s, Rabban.

The Jesus and Mary Chain, Loop, Wall Of Voodoo, Concrete Blonde, REM (before they lost it), Motorhead (old farts, but the Ace Of Spades came out in November 1980), Lydia Lunch, Propaganda, Alan Vega's solo stuff, Siouxsie and the Banshees (the best stuff they've ever done was during the '80s), The Cure, Napalm Death, a couple of Lou Reed's best albums, Shoot Out The Lights by Richard and Linda Thompson, three or four of Peter Hammill's best albums, Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Music For A New Society by John Cale, Heaven 17, The Pogues, Skinny Puppy, Young Gods, a few of Elvis Costello's finer moments...

A lovely list but unfortunately I can't see much there to interest me except Motorhead (the bold correction is mine) but I would really consider them to be a 70s band and always liked Hawkwind a little more.

I wouldn't bother, Doggy, the Old Man is pretty set in his ways.

Hell, he won't even listen to Nirvana.  :icon_rolleyes:

Not totally true Bleach (1989) was so-so and Nevermind (1991) was fine. It all went downhill from there for me though.

He's big on Pearl Jam, then?

Ten (1991) was fine then downhill.

  14. Cyber-flares aren't your thing ?

Not really. Pooka posted my original opinion a while back before I joined the boards.

I've just received an email about the new Cybermen from my friend.

Seriously why do they need to mess with things.

It looks like the new Tin Man for a remake of The Wizard of Oz.

It's supposed to be an unemotional cyborg bent on galactic conquest not a

    cuddly robot from bloody Oz!!!

I do think it looks a bit "Please be my friend".

I have changed my opinion since then. I now believe that the design has been based on the Good Bill and Ted Robots from Bogus Journey

  15. According to the Radio Times (that I glanced at in the shop) K-9 will be appearing in Episode 3.

The new and (so called) improved Cybermen will appear in episode 5. I reserve judgement on improved until then but can't say I approve of the design so far.

  16. Being a 70/80s child I guess this is where I come in and say how much better music was in my day.

Unfortunately I have to say that on the whole I can't think of anything of note music wise that happened in the 80s that I would consider listening to. I have next to no knowledge when it comes to 80s music (you can just ask Pooka on this).

As time has gone on my music taste has split to either 60s/early 70s or after 1990 to present day, missing pretty much all of the 80s out.

I can tell you all the members to S Club 7, Atomic Kitten, Take That, Girls Aloud and Busted (although I would like to point out I neither listen to (except on the radio) or own any albums ) but would struggle with Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and Bananarama. :icon_redface:

(I feel I may come to regret that last sentence when Pooka reads it)
