  1. Chris, Grin: Agreed.

Most of all because i think it isnt necessary to be hostile even to those you dont like.

There are people like him and its their own business anyway.

With spitting acid at him that wont change.

Though i think too, he has improved.

Even in mind that i never was annoyed by him.

At least hes not a dick.

And thats the most important to me.

  2. finished with it. its pretty little like the other short storys isnt it? i dont like sin city short storys because theyre so..short and meaningless. and how can be gail dead if marv dies before her?

but visually its really ok. my fav is still hard goodbye but thats maybe the second or third best. reminded me max payne like most sin city novels did. oh how i love that game...

(page 7 (marv in front of the building), 9 (marv going downstairs), 15 (marv standing before the door), 21 (m coming into room), 23 (marvs only sentence) the fav)

  3. Personally, in terms of story, I'm torn between the original Sin City (The Hard Goodbye), A Dame To Kill For, and That Yellow Bastard. In terms of art alone, I don't think Miller has ever drawn something quite as visually-remarkable as Silent Night.

oh, i dont know silent night :-?

i have to see it :)

that yellow bastard was too long for me. the story itself wasnt bad but hartigan repeated himself over and over again and it had way too much text.

but yeah, ahg and adtkf were great, ahg even visually.

  4. well thats pretty cool. but can i have a stupid question? what could eg. i do with a tarot pack? play? making fortune telling? or am i stupid and not getting the point of it because of that?

but if there is one, i would want to have one. and i try to draw some if i could do such thing. if yes and they look okay, i could show them. but i dont want to promise anything. the thing is i dont know all what the things look like :)

  5. do you have an arconditioning system installed in your apartment/house?

because they can be really nasty to your health, my sister had problems because of this too with her neck. what else could i recommend?

use those ergonomic pillows, do some aerobics between sitting in front of the computer and use stools with backrests. and such things.

  6. I don't like Smallville much, but I like the original Superman because it's one of the best superhero films ever made. Period. Sure, it's dated a little now, but in terms of capturing the spirit of the original characters it's based on, taking them seriously yet still making them work, and crafting a thrilling, moving story for non-comic fans, it's still to be beaten. That's why.

well i dont know the superman comics, i read a few when i was a kid thats all, because i dont like these superhero things except spiderman, and sandman and hellblazer are the only comics i really like altough i dont know much. so maybe as adaptation its top notch but as film i didnt like it. but i saw it a long time ago. and as i said, i dont like often these superherothingos.

  7. Yes. And no.

I know, or have encountered, fans of the Sin City comics, comic-readers who don't like the Sin City comics, and people who've never read them, all of whom didn't enjoy the film. I've also encountered people from all those categories who loved it.

    aha :)

and are here on the forums such people who didnt like it?

  8. Hey guys! I'm alive!  8-)  (not that anyone missed this KR fan here... ;) )

Finally Sin City opened here on Friday. Well, I went to see it (as I said ages ago, I was truly impressed with the trailer yadda, yadda, yadda). Well, as a movie, Sin City is... a really good trailer!!!

Maybe a good comic? At least people say it's a good comic, as I didn't read it. In fact, I discovered watching the movie that I would not like the comic at all.

Nice visuals. 10 minutes... nice visuals... well... yawmnnn.... nice visuals. That's it ! I didn't like it. Liked the firts 10 minutes, but the rest was the same (not in storyline of course, but the visuals). I wasn't " into" the story at all. Not into any of the characters (and what a bunch of them...).

And, dare I say, EVEN if Mr Reeves was a character, I swear it would be well below in my list. Visuals aren't everything, I could not get into the story, I didn't like the overacting, although Benicio del Toro is always good in anything he does, even if for a very short screen time. But those women??? What the hell? I knew I was right about them in a old thread we had here... (but I don't even consider an insult, nothing,  because the movie isn't a classic or went so far to get that type of reaction. It's just idiot).

Don't kill me, please. It's just an opinion, maybe that's because I'm not a modern woman...

oh besides do read the hard goodbye and a dame to kill for. theyre really good and i as a sin city film not really liker liked them too so they have to be really good.

are you btw a comic lover so do you read other comics?

  9. i dont like this superman film like i didnt like the previous superman films or smalville, altough the 4th decade gets better. this is the only adaptation of the next ones that i dont want to see.

the series with teri hatcher was good tough.

why do much people like superman and smallville?

  10. It's very stylised and very violent, two things that are not for everyone.

well yeah, it really has style and the opening and end sequences were very film noir.

but violent? yeah, it was violent in the background, at least for me, nothing really brutal was shown, always in the back.

i didnt like it because its pretty corny and dumb. what is okay in the comics (at least in the hard goodbye what looks teriffic) but not in a film for me.

or maybe because i awaited a tarantino/rodriguez film like from dusk till dawn with gory action and stupid but genius dialogue with much humour what sin city didnt have.

and the fantastic music what was in the trailer wasnt in the film eh...

i think i awaited tooooo much...

but as i said, the sin city 2 comic is much better, maybe that will have my thumb up too.

    so please dont kill me.

  11. i didnt like it too because it wasnt spectacular in any case. it was always okay but it wasnt as good in every aspect to make me say "wow thats....".

clive owen bruce willis and del toro were good in it and the dames where beautiful and the miho action was good, some visuals too but the music in the fast-paced sequences were boring, the dialogues and happenings too left me cold, maybe just the hartigan story which brought some emotions to me.

constantine and batman begins had much more good moments.

but the comic the next is based on (a dame to kill for) is pretty good (i didnt like these ones (hard goodbye, big fat kill, yellow bastard, the dame wore red: the customer is always right)) so it might be good. i hope so, i want see it and the last one too.

  12. i jumped eg. when in sixth sense a wound was revealed in the ghost boys head in the apartment. and more.

or many such moments in the ring, altough its inlogical.

    some things in evil dead.

    some things in constantine.

when we see robin williams dreaming in "one hour photo" in a white room (that especially)

    some things in event horizon.

some moments in ghost ship, haunted (not very good but creepy films. and i was young)

only one moment in "it": when the granny picks up the broken teacup from the floor...aah!

the bit in lotr when frodo jumps in the swamp, altough after watching it again not really.

but i didnt see much horrorfilms, at least not much really good ones.

if i remember some more, i write it.

  13. i watched the trailer and yes, it looks really matrixesque and corny- i hope its not a shematic "the world leaders are assholes we kill them and everybody is happy"-film but intelligent politicising and leading people think. and a bit fun too :)

(does v-s hair look like this in the comic too? its awful!)

  14. well i think too that there is not much hope for a sequel altough i would want more from it- because its much better than azarellos hellblazer run and i enjoyed it immensly as a hellblazer fan, the only comic i really like. it was something new but not too otherwise, like garfield was- now that was a piece of shyte, garfield is not a little happy film for lil kids- if its something i hate thats shematic films- and we can say everything about constantine the movie but its not that usual crap, it insults christianity, contains no love story and is not a dumb actionfilm with dumb humour but also not an artfilm who takes itself to seroius and intellectual. its also artistic and has a genial humour.

but ok, its sometimes boring like the music is not ftitting and some corny dialogue and situations. and some idiotic changes like the stop-smoking in the end.

about the dvdsales: it does VERY well here in austria and germany, its except on amazon.de, where it was a long time on the first place or at least in the top ten, its foundable everywhere in the t10 and often on the first or second- and the dvd was released 1and a half month ago!

(just a little backstory: i had to go 5 times into the biggest dvdselling shop in vienna to see an exemplar of a constantine dvd.)

  15. I watched the DVD today and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I saw it the first time in theatres. And I enjoyed it alot when I first watched it, I guess thats saying something.

yeah on dvd its better because of the picture.

i really recommend it anyone to watch the film again with some good piece of dvd system because for me its more hellblazer than for others (dont know why) -and im taking my thoughts not just from the clouds.

for me it has some spirit of jc in it. and i dont think i cant be too wrong?!

  16. the cover looks wonderful i love the old logo

but why did they use the moviefont for konstantin?

is hellblazer not really popular in serbia and got known by the film?

and rogan how did you make that because im learning translation in university and it would be cool to see a hungarian hellblazer and a german movie novelisation

  17. its based on dangerous habits and original sins and a few things from other hellblazer novels. its not really a faithful adaptation in background of the characters aznd story but there are things similar on the behaviour of the characters to their enviroments and some taken out dialog characters and a bit of story and design. i really made a hard job to compare the two medias and in my opinion its not so very bad like it seems; believe me i read the novels twice before and after watching the film

when im getting home i can write down in detail what was similar and why i thought it good
