yes. i went to bed at 10:30pm of Jan 1....

my sleep was spotty

i kept waking up, but still i figure i had more than my usual sleep

that kind of factors in as well....

tonight. i have to go to a despedida de soltera

the daughter of my boss is getting married on Thursday, 4 Jan

he went to see me today to tell me he's feeling "it"

when i looked quizzical (i suppose, since he elaborated)

he said, "what a father feels"

his daughter is the first of his kids to get married

and she's the one and only girl

but before i got side-tracked into that story,

i plan to get to bed as soon as i get home

or i manage to leave early, as soon as it hits 10:30

I posted last 27th - my 27th i think.

i was at work then and suffering mildly from no sleep

well i had a chance to rest up the following day as it was my birthday

and i had long ago set aside a special leave day for that

i had a quiet one, just the family and 2 of my best buds

high school-mates *twas quite a hoot

i gave them a taste of that Russian whatever it was drink

and Jerry, one of them - said it was not just a tad stronger than baileys

like i said

but loads stronger =)

i suppose so. i take it i took one too many

because i woke up with a whopping headache

so i missed work on the 29th.

today's the 31 - well, it was the 30th when i woke up

and felt terribly sluggish

it couldnt be anything i had to drink

so i figure i was about to get sick

so i rested pretty much

i just a lot of reading

i am almost asleep now.

so i better go....

on second thought, i'd post a note on my journal for my journal friends

Josh, i wish you peace of mind.

i could wish you some sleep as well

but i doubt if that has any effect

i tried wishing that on me - to no avail

i did sleep well the night of the 25th. but none on the 24th.

so you can say i saw Christmas dawn .. as i was awake til 8am

and today, i had about 30 minutes of sleep - between 8-8:80

and then 1.5 hours lunch nap.

things quiet at work. i just have to add a paragraph or 2 to my study.

thank goodness.

at least i'll be off tomorrow

to celebrate quietly.

then one last day of the year... before 2007.

so how are you celebrating New Year's eve... this time?

mine will be quiet.

aside from the usual midnite dinner....

January 2 i will be attending a birthday party.....

by the way, i like this Russian drink we drunk last Christmas eve

tasted a wee bit stronger than Bailey's

and i need to go shopping tomorrow and then again on Friday...

for food. for midnite dinner on the eve ...

we have a fairly standard meal on New Year's Eve

Ham (again. gulp), embotido, Shrimp with green peas and cashews,

and a rice dish....and fruit salad (i wonder if i'm forgetting anything?)

and a bubbly

(do you think it'll be bad if I drank more of the Russian drink?

after the bubbly toast, that is?)

otherwise, if it werent traditional i'd rather NOT eat

i have this sickening aversion to food....

i suppose a natural consequence of the holidays?

and i just enjoyed Selkie's fish story....

my friend used to have a fish somewhat like that...

i'd have to ask her again what it was called....

btw, when do you think someone is too old for ice cream?

T’was the Night Before Christmas

A very short tale… I’d call it a drabble - and goblin, because your pic disturbs my nephew. Word count is 182, according to Word, that is.

And to the Straight to Hell guys perhaps – as I cant get the British flavor I wanted John to have….maybe they can tell Charlie so Charlie can email me. =)

John Constantine was on watch this night, his senses attuned to this place, the eerieness that seemed to gather. ‘It’s almost midnight. What if it does not appear? But it should.’

John had smoked his umpteenth fag, and still nothing. Damn! He took a turn around the room, taking a short stretch to exercise his legs, and took the opportunity to crush his cigarette.

He sensed the miasma forming, then it coalesced into a familiar figure. ‘Santa, complete with bag of toys.’ But John took no time to think, as soon as it fully formed he whipped his gun and fired the barrel with its special shell, hitting Santa fully.

As the blood pooled out, Santa gurgled out “…why? How did you …..?”

John watched him die, and the second he died, the image shimmered, changed into a figure of a female demon and disappeared into nothingness. Even the blood and toys vanished.

‘Why does the succubus think changing its image into Santa will allow it to come near me. ’

And John left the room, his good deed done for the night.

I really like this thread.

It's a place to sit, and sort of watch the world

from different but highly interesting perspectives

you guys (and i include the women in that description) are so interesting

i could sit and listen to you talk...

it feels like being in a lounge and listening to talk all around..

i'm still at my desk although i'm nursing my third full glass of wine

=)

and eating ice cream... should i have said slurping?

but that would be a lie

i'm using a fork to eat ice cream - we ran out of clean spoons

and the ice cream is deliciously cold and sweet.

my boss gave us all grapes... i tasted it, it was sweet

i dont know how i'm going to bring all of my stuff down ...

i will try and write a story for goblin's christmas picture to you all

this story - it will most likely be crack - will be my Christmas gift

to all of you here at STH.

but primarily to those of you who've taken the time to know me

in their own private little way.

Hi! it really is a countdown to Christmas here at work

I attended the year-end Board meeting and had Christmas lunch

(twas good, btw ....

those who are curious, there was some sushi, sashimi and maki

and the regular vegetable, fish, beef, shrimp dish -

and my favorite almond jelly and lychees ...

i was wondering why i liked all the food

until i remembered i had to approve the menu...)

i should scurry down and attend the raffle but

i thought i'd spend some time first on the board... =)

you guys should see my desk at work

out of all the presents i should be sending out

i've sent out only one, the rest are cluttered on my desk

i didnt want to send them out in parts....

tomorrow is the office party...

my nephew is tagging along for the ride

as usual, we are having pot luck

and i'm supposed to bring the barbeque and salad

non-existent so I'm surviving mainly - barely by a series of catnaps.

as far as i can determine i am much too much awake

ah josh, the things you have in your bath

i'm afraid mine is just the commonplace ones

except that i've recently developed this .... ... thing

for liquid bath soap

I now have several bottles (too many!) in different scents and shapes

and different colours

and yet, i have this appalling tendency of using regular soap

when i finally do have my bath...

i have to consciously choose to use my liquid soap

one thing though, it does feel more ... hard to think of a word ...

.... whatever .... to use liquid bath wash

and it has to mesh well with whatever perfume or powder i will use

too much work... although it works quite well when i'll be just home

au naturalle matches any bath soap. *grins*

I saw goblin's Christmas card over there a g-spot.

the hotel we were in was beside this club that had a bikini contest

the very nice German is a direct supplier and his stuff

is something i cant find in MetroManila .... so yes, i spent too much

what i had fun was the late night beach walks

but the tree looked lovely last night

i just found out out that my bedroom's almost done too

(well, i just need to change a few more things)

and i told my sis-in-law to buy me some wrapping paper...

all my gifts have been bought (or already commissioned...=) )

just the office people... but normally i get them perishable stuff

so it's the last thing before we go off.

we'll be having the tree lighting ceremony at work today

i was planning to skip it, if i can, as people will be waiting for me...

but i'll see if i can stay a bit...

would bloom for Christmas but methinks that wont be a go....

probably get some flowers again for my mom....

and do something to get Christmas decor for the house

(we're doing it for the office today ... we passed the hat ...

and i got my boss to donate funds =) )

i also did some personal shopping as we did shopping for the office

i got nice Chinese slippers...

i was hoping to get the Christmas curtains up by this weekend

as it will be the first Sunday of Advent next week....

which means, as far as the house is concerned,

that things should be ready

(i always have all the windows and screens cleaned,

the rugs washed, and the tree up, and the presents start

accumulating under the tree, and oh "fakely" lighting the wreath)

my Christmas present-shopping is done. well, except for the food

i mean those i'm giving food for Christmas.

this year it'll be some special chocolate

and oh, we start testing the new flavors this weekend....

back in Manila after 4 days up the mountain doing work.

and i had time only for a quick shopping trip

i just got flowers and delicacies and brooms

well, those are the things Baguio is famous for anyways

aside from the carvings ...

and now i find i have a slight problem connected with work

gotta smoothen the thing out

i'm missing something... **sigh**

i'm still tired

edit: the missing something has been found i'm happy to report

got a call from the Baguio people and they told me they found it

** sigh ** a relieved one, this time.

and oh... i dont have a lot of pics, and i'm mostly not there.

well ... i still havent figured out how to do the auto pic thing

and i was too tired to read about it.

but maybe when i go up there again...

and i found a great driver who can do it very fast, too....

so just maybe.... i might

in the meantime. december 1 is next week.

time to put up the decorations i guess....

i guess i'll have to clean then dress up the house this coming weekend...

should i do my bedroom in blue? or green?

or maybe just do it to match the comforter......
