  1. I went to this huge concert on saturday. It was one of the come back shows of a huge argentinian band called SODA STEREO. They broke up in 97 and now 10 years later they decided to go on tour.

It was a huge disapointment for me ( not because of the band, they were amazing) but i had been waiting for that show for 6 months and there was so much people that i couldnt see shit, I saw the whole thing in one of the big screens....i got out with the feeling of not having been there at all, it was really depressing.

Anyways, as my best friend often says to me, life manages to throw second chances my way all the time. So the day after the show i was talking to my cousin, who used to be in a band in the early 90´s and has a ton of contacts, and he tells me that he can get free tickets for the tour finale shows around christmas, so i am preety thrilled about that.

Ps: This band will be playing in LA in novemeber,so if any of you gets the chance go see the show cause its amazing!

  2. Thanxs poet and inca. The job ias assistant manager in a store. This store sells overpriced toys that will hopefully turn your kid into the next president of the world!

Ps: Inca, i quit my last job because I had bought a PS2 and wanted to spend every waking hour playing it.

  3. I got a copy of american gods thanx to the amazing dogpoet, so i am reading that at the moment.

I am only up to chapter 2, but i am in love with this book already.

Ps: Is it weird that every time i read a book i imagine the characters as famous movie/televisions stars??

My shadow is the guy from the transporter and for some reason my Mr. Wednesday is giles from buffy

  4. I actually rather like Sandinista! Wouldn't recommend it to a newcomer, though.

Honestly, if you've got From Here To Eternity and want to find out more, you shouldn't bother with any of the Best Of compilations. Between that, London Calling, The Clash and Give 'Em Enough Rope (in roughly that order, although there's not much to choose between the first two), you'll have got almost all the really essential stuff anyway, and those three are all usually available dirt-cheap.

In non-Clash news, I've recently been checking out Radio 4 and Spoon (neither of whom are anything like as good as I'd been told they were), Battles (who are ace in small doses, but get wearying if I listen to too much in one go), and some Suicide stuff I hadn't heard before, mainly live (a lot better than I'd initially have expected, but I still generally prefer their studio material).

I kind of like sandinista too, but as you also said, its not the best way to start listening to the clash.

I am still triying to find anything by come/thalia zedek....but no luck yet. I did manage to find giant drag´s hearts and unicorns and i am loving it!

  5. There was this story (i dont remember the issues but i am sure our local know-it-alls will get that in no time) in wich the swamp thing was using john´s body (i think it was so that he could get his girlfriend pregnant), so he got the arse tattoo done in revenge for all the shit John has put him through over the years.

  6. I've been listeinng to a lot of Apocalyptica recently, is it all instrumental?

    No, it's not.

i HAve a question for all you indie loving bastards out there.Have any of you ever heard of a Thalia Zedek? and in case you have, would you happen to know where i can find a torrent of any of her records?

I'm sure dogpoet will be along to rave enthusiastically about her former band Come as soon as he spots your post (he's a big fan), but in the meantime...yes, I've heard of Zedek. She's really rather good.

A quick search of the usual places doesn't reveal any torrents of her stuff, but a fair amount is available via both eMusic (one of the best pay-for-music sites out there, with an excellent range of artists/songs, ridiculously generous pricing and no DRM software at all) and the iTunes store, so you may have to take the moral high road with this one.

Yeah,my search revealed the same thing.I guess i´ll have to pay for her music

I´ve also heard about her former band COME, but i havent been able to find any of their records either. Well,i guess I´ll wait for dogpoet.

  7. welcome, nice to see i am not the only south american here.

Are you the only South American left? For some reason, I thought there were a handful of SAU members here....But off the top of my head dear, departed Hilde* is the only other one I can think of....

Weren't there more South American members here???

*No, I know nothing about this regardless of what you hear. I only said I was going to teach her Goetic invocative magic, I never said I was going to pressure her to sell her soul to Satan. Like I said, she was going to her father's house to stay.

Nah, i am not the only one. There´s also Fredi and the new guy...but i dont think we add up to a handful.

PS: like mark said, make sure you all new memebers stop by some of the other thread....specially the one where we post pictures of ourselves, so thatthe older members can choose wich of you they will claim to themselves.

  8. Hi andy, this is not an HB question as much as it is about working for DC.

Exactly how much freedom do writers have.Do you get to do whatever the fuck you feel like or do you have certain parameters you have to meet?
