So I might as well make this my first post, after having made this account a coupla days or so back. In terms of speaking relatively, I've jumped onto the Hellblazer train a bit rather recently.
I've been a heavy reader of comics since I can remember being able to read, but in the early days, I read almost exclusively about the tights-and-capes crowd in Marvel and DC books. But eventually I started to branch out into other books, although I still have a certain soft spot for most of those sociopathic panty models, unlike a certain Hellblazer writer.
I'd first been made aware of the world of John Constantine through the Keanu movie, but I didn't think much of it so I wasn't inclined to check out Hellblazer immediately. However, Constantine's appearances in The Sandman and the original Books of Magic mini got me interested enough to order up the second edition of Original Sins, and just like magic and a pack of Silk Cut, I got hooked. The only downside I've had to joining so late is that Hellblazer had already ended by the time I got into it and the only Constantine comics the CBSs were selling were Justice League Dark and Newbutnotimproved52 Constantine, so I've been primarily a trade/digital reader.
Constantine didn't get me into occult, but he sure taught me the value of a nice coat, and my political leanings have started veering more to the left since I've started reading.
