Oh look, I remembered. 

That is me, this is us

I was planning on sending cards this year but failed as my offspring has made about a thousand friends at school (how?) and by the time I’d written all the ones she couldn’t be arsed to do I have card fatigue. 

It was Christmas with a five year old, so magical/hellish, delete accordingly. 

Hope everyone’s was good. 

I can’t remember how to do pictures! 

I can’t remember what I was last doing when I last posted here. It feels like forever ago. 

The job I had came to an end which was good really, as I was working with primary kids (our ages ranged from 7-11 but the wider school was from 4 up). I didn’t really enjoy it. But it was good to have money coming in and not relying on savings. Then the council had a restructure (again) and that was the end of that. Luckily there was a vacancy at anothe PRU and I aced the interview. Now I’m working on Upper School so the kids are 11-13  and I’m loving it, even though I’m my first week I had 3 chairs thrown at me and almost got punched. Now we’re looking at going down the SEMH route and I’m trying to plug the development gaps that the kids have missed. 

It’s great to be back. 

Romana na has started school and could read before she went, now she’s reading really well and I’ve got her into Neil Gaiman. She’s also getting far too good at video games and kicked ass online with Splatoon. 

My lovely house continues to fill me with joy although the fucking beagle bastards are slowly destroying everything including my remaining sanity. 

I’m also working towards a 6-pack. Well, something’s coming which I consider pretty sweet for a 45 year old mother. Take that aging! Obviously I’m so tired a coma looks good right now but, fuck it. 

Those are the good things, there’s some big shitty things too but I’m just blocking them out. 

Will try and post some photos, but I know some of you have seen it all on Instagram so it’s old news.

I didn’t really get into The Good Place (that’s the Ted Danson thing, yeah?)

i find as i I age I watch less and less tv. 

I’ve just started watching this (up to episode 4). Really enjoying it. Loved Chris Meloni since Oz but he’s FANTASTIC here. 

Well one of those is a positive.

We we will be writing back soon- H asked about pets and we were in the process of getting R a fish tank so we're waiting for that to be all sorted then sending pics. (We had bad advice and 2 fish died, one survived and we got another hoping to get more on Saturday.) we might have to include some traditional English sweets. Or a Yorkshire pudding or summat :-) 

Lou- do you get BBC channels over there? If you do you really need to get Max into Hey Duggee. It's the best thing on TV. They did a river episode that managed to reference both African Queen and Apocolypse Now (with a rabbit as Dennis Hopper and a panda as Brando). It's brilliant.

I want snow brick makers. Not that it'll ever snow like this again. 

Tbf we took the sled onto Town Fields and the sun shone and the snow was powdery, not all wet and cold (see, pre-EU snow, obvs) and it actually was great fun. Plus school is shut again tomorrow. So good. 

My school is shut today, I have bought a sledge and a beagle thinks snow is food. It's snow city here. I don't like it. 

My daughter received a pen pal letter from Dave's daughter today. She was very excited and wanted to know how Harper knew pink was her favourite colour and that she loved princesses. She was also very happy to receive American candy (and would not share it with me) so thanks Dave (and this site) for facilitating that. It's brill! 

Finally started the Black Dynamite cartoon. 

Only seen even the first ep so far but very good. 

I know! It's adorable! 

Please remember my my daughter is only just 4 and quite mad and don't be afraid. Also the drawing is a submarine. 

Got my card from Dave and we want to say thank you to Harper for her letter and picture. Expect something in the mail soon(ish) as Romana wanted to send her a letter back.

Interesting. I couldn't find a link on Wiki for it so thanks for that. Odd that there's two films missing from the anthology. I'll have to track them down. 

Inside no. 9 returned last night and I enjoyed the recent League of Gents new series. 

I'm sure someone posted about them before in the film thread, so someone more knowledgable than me will know. 

I can't remember which is why I haven't named it. It's on IMDb as 3 separate films- Act of Faith, Jimmy's End and His Heavy Heart )I think) but on Shudder they're all in one.
