  2. It is sad that Romance comics are really a dead art form. I guess really the only popular one available is Love and Rocket's but you wouldn't want your young daughter reading that.

  3. Another tale of the boss using his power over his underlings.

    b6_3.jpg

Wow, just wow. This is wrong on so many level's. First groping someone's girl in front of their mother then accusing the mother of being overly protective.

    Listen to reason woman.

"What do you do when your man is not around to hold you? When stangers meet."

  4. That lady is giving her the meanest glare i've seen on any romance cover. She look's possessed.

    f6_3.jpg

That has to be some of the sexiest resistance i've seen.

DAd doesn't look to interested in this; where's your mother.

And on that day his dream came true.

  5. Is this who little girl's want to grow up to be?

    b6_395.jpg

This story has all the classic plot lines the betrayed friend, the doctor, mom's my rival and my parent's don't like my boyfriend.

I wonder how many of those little cheap keep sakes are floating around town?

  6. One the oddest thing about this strip is there sheer inconsistency of how they draw the nerd. He'll be a dapper looking fellow in one and then some twisted Ikabob Crane type character in another.

    nerds1.jpg

she has the TAxi Driver Jodie Foster look.

Mom look's like she's been drinking and baking a little too much today.

    nerds3.jpg

Does she have the Beatles White Album in her hand? Is it just me or does the girl in the red flower dress seems a little bit more right for Arnie than our vixen protagonist?

Now why on earth would he stop in the middle of the wilderness with a girl?

She just got turned down. She has a very perplexed look on her face and i refuse to say anything about clam digging.

Move over, Rover, and let me stand next to your fire.

  7. Teenage girl's and their man problems.

Boy tough choice the married older man or booze hound for the under age girl.

It doesn't get any better. I love this one since the girl must of been 15 when she began the relationship with a guy 10 years older than her.

Another great one! Romance comics are the best

  8. After a horrific quarrel that arose after a burnt souffel our young heroine set's off for Haiti for a cheap divorce and becomes entagled in an abusive relationship with a local hustler. It all end's on a happy note after a good hard spanking by her husband solves their marital problems.

    The infamouse Souffle quarrel

    01eb6fbfe4.jpg

Who on earth recommended the divorce lawyer in a totalitarian dictatorship like Haiti. The best part of the Hatian adventure is there wasn't a single black Hatian in any of the panels.

    cbb3c97b8c.jpg

Violence solves everything! Note earlier on in the comic her husband had been beaten up after challenging some guy oggling his wife. This is why she is slightly concerned.

    3231599cb7.jpg

A good hard spanking solved everything. The lawyer doesn't have a very high opinon of women.

  9. I have the complete man-thing comic book collection and have decided to post a little bit of the gospel each day.

It would be great if any man-thinging's could be placed in the thread to honor him.

The origin of the Man-Thing from Adventure in Fear issue 10.

I do believe our asian femme fatale is sporting some questionable swamp ward-robe

  10. I just bought a used Van Morrison's Moondance today and decided to take it out of its case and move it to my cd book. I was quite surprised, when I opened the disc up and inside the liner tray were 3 cigarettes and another much smaller one that was not a cigarette but a very shrivled up joint.

This was about as good as the time, I bought a G.I. Joe battle fort at my local flea market and when I opened the fort up found it full of bullets. We guessed, that someone had decided to illegally bring in bullets through storing them in the fort but some mover stole the item.

  11. Note the Black Canary uses the sex weapon threatening to let him go home alone. Batman has the look like he left the iron on; of course, it would be Alfred who left the iron.

  12. "This is the second romance comic that had the fat girl not being helped after they fell."

There's a lesson to be learned there, Lyra. A very important lesson.

This one looks like an angry, bitter fat woman. Who's faced this rejection all her life and is sick of it. Or, maybe she was thin and pigged out on donuts and is now pissed because she doesn't understand why men don't act the same way to her....

Either way, the doctor is too busy sexually harassing his nurse to be bothered with an ugly, fat chick!

"The Gay Ghost"....Didn't Peter Milligan use him in his X-Statix Present mini-series? It's ringing bells with me, for some reason. And, if he didn't, don't you think he would've liked to?

"Harvey who always dressed well"....the hippy cause!

"Nobody is going to pink me with their rod. I think it's illegal in my state."

    This one kills me!

I think it was the phantom ghost of something. He wore all white and rode a horse.

This fat girl is super pissed the other one looked hurt no one was helping.

  13. [Many thanks for all the laughs, BTW.

I've flipped through that at the store once, a long time ago. Before I started reading comics.

I just read it again today. I think the ones that worked best were the ones making fun of the art. "Too Dumb for Love" was great because the girl was always drawn with a blank expression, and "Narcissist Heart" was good too, because the characters all had the same features.

I really don't think the author really needs to be changing the dialogue it is funny enough as it is. She could add commentary like Mystery Science theater to spice it up. I'd like to see that "too dumb for love" cover.

  14. As you may know, I'm not a big fan of Green Arrow but this one page from JLA issue 168 won him some points in my book. I can't believe the one thing the JLA get's upset about is Ollie calling the REd Tornado a "machine" instead of looking at how selfish they are jet setting around the stars. I do believe this is what the MArshal Law was implying when the earth's mightest heroes set off to the star's.

  15. Indeed nothing can suck more than Coal Chamber. The best picture in one of the discs is of this hollowed out tree and a guy with long painted fingernails working on some scrolls. The thing about it is everything is so pristine and clean. I couldn't imagine him keeping a hollowed out tree that clean or well lit.

Anyway, AFI is alright. I just got rid of two of their cd's on lala this week and my brother stole another one from me. I rat

  16. Nobody is going to pink me with their rod. I think it's illegal in my state.

    Damn hippies with their causes.

Get over it he's dead. Could he be any more subtle.
