She had to coming. There was only so much reason the Stud could take. I find the floating exclaimation point on the side of the girls head adds a bit of impact to the slap.

That's just so Fox can hold on the X-men franchise that Marvel sold their soul for after teatering on bankruptcy. ACtually, it is nice to see MArvel get screwed over after doing it for so long to its own writers and artists.

The new Primal SCream has some great 70's Rolling Stones style rock. I love their video Country Girl. I don't think I've seen a drunk lush taking a dump in a back alley before in a video not on some speciality fetish site

 

 

Hmmm...that's alright, but like the Scream's earlier Stones-aping effort (1994's Give Out But Don't Give Up), it suffers from the fact that the Stones themselves have just put out an album filled with songs which do the same sort of thing, only better. Just as 'Love Is Strong' and 'You Got Me Rocking' from Voodoo Lounge easily outclass second-rate imitations like 'Rocks' and 'Jailbird', both 'Rough Justice' and 'It Won't Take Long' (I specify those two because they're available as streaming audio here - there are several other songs on A Bigger Bang which are far better than either of those, but I can't find online copies to offer by way of comparison) are just as effective as big, thundering Stonesy rockers, and have the advantage of actually being played by the Stones.

 

What it comes down to is that, to my ears, Primal Scream aren't anywhere near as good at being the Rolling Stones as they are at just being Primal Scream (I know, it's a bit of a radical attitude, but bear with me...), so I suspect the new album is going to disappoint me. Still, I'll be checking it out at some point, because when the Scream are good, they're very good indeed.

You know, I heard horrible things about the F4. I went to see it with my sister's kid and it was great. It was a great popcorn film with just the right amount of humor and action. I didn't expect much and it delivered. I guess, expected more from the X-men after the last two.

I said that because Trace doesnt like F4, in fact, he loathes it ;)

I found it really bad too, but very entertaining.

Thats something when other films are bad plus horrible to watch too.

I couldn't agree more. I enjoy a bad film like F4 on the same level as say Showgirls.

Thanks Trace. I just bought a bunch of Romance comics from the 25 cent bin. They are glorious. I even managed to get the one with the geek with how to fix a car. They have stories about wife swapping, popping pill, biker gangs and slum life. I couldn't stop reading them last night. They are the best. They are different since these are humans speaking to one another not superhumans dealing with large scale problems like an alien invasion. If, i had to write a thesis paper I'd gear it towards Romance Comics. There is just so much cultural value in the pages.

A girl with a power so weirdly suited to weird sex (and not much else) has reason to wonder what's aid behind her backs

STAR BOY A big fullback of a guy, he is slow, steady. faithful, honorable, reliable, loyal, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. And dumb. And probably hung like a horse, which will be the deciding factor in Dream Girl's settling down with him in that isolated observatory (why does he care about the hung part?)

ultra boy He is, however, selfless and bright and willing to risk his own life often in a morbid, intense, almost passionate rage. Ultra Boy would be hell in bed. He undoubtedly, however, makes gentle, tender (and expert) love to Phantom Girl and saves his occasional forays into the bizarre for someone less angelic to him -- say, Dream Girl. This guy is probably the Legion's closest to being a mental case. Though he would deny it, he needs a Bouncing Boy type -- I think he is smart enough to know that. DREAM GIRL Dream Girl is dumb. Her power is more or less hit or miss in value (though it is always accurate) and I'm sure her main service to the Legion is in her quarters after dark. She needs constant reassurance of her value, and since her Legion career has been less than stellar, the only way to get psychologically stroked is to allow herself to be physically stroked. By anybody. She has a need for love, adoration and reinforcement of her narcissistic self-image. Star Boy is either too dumb to realize this, or has resigned himself to it. His most fervent wish is to get her off to some godforsaken observatory somewhere, alone. Forever

The Swamp thing has some stunning numbers. The scary thing is for a Marvel Comic to get cancelled it needs to sell about 25,000. This would pretty much mean all of these comics would of have been cut a long time agon. There is some benefit to having DC part of a large corporation like Time/Warner. Thanks for the numbers. Anyway, this X-men three film is dead. It was quite front loaded and will soon fade away. They could have done so much with this film but they played it safe and made a brainless comic book movie. Do you think your better off making a film that makes most of it's earnings during the first week or a film like Batman Begins that lasts just about the entire summer to reach the same amount X-men made in a week and a half. I doubt X-men will make much more than Batman Begins.

In another note this is the only time Marvel stock has not headed south after a movie release. It will usually spike to about 20 dollars just before a film is released then drop the Monday after. It did go down a bit after Avi resigned from Marvel but is about up to 20 again. I think this has a lot to do with it producing its own films soon and the Ghostrider.

Lion's GAte decided it didn't want to make a Black Widow film due to low interest in female action films.

Jim Shooter wrote this inspired rape story. It is from the Rampaging Hulk issue 23 drawn by Buscheama (sp). I think the comic was a little more adult oriented because it was a magazine. But, wasn't his around the time of the Incredible Hulk TV show?

I finally got a hold of Rampaging Hulk issue 23 the one with the Bruce Banner rape scene. The scan's we had were quite poor and would appear to have been put in order to create more context than was actually intended.
