  1. Nope, they don't sell at movies here.

People with long trenchcoats keep it in a bag in their pocket for the movie though.

Rogan-Yes, that's all it is. What I found interesting is that Yugoslavia was the last place in Europe where composing and transmitting oral poetry was still practised up until 1930. I never knew that.

  2. What's the Satanic Bible about? Pretty well exactly what it says!

I hope this wasn't a quiz for Kinki to make sure he did her reading.....

It's a treatise written by Anton LaVey (high priest, founder of the Church of Satan) explaining why the Bible is crap and that his form of Satanism, which embraces the carnal instincts of man and black magic to get whatever you want, are far superior.

  3. Yes, I agree that the end half of the comic felt very clumsy.

Almost like Mina was rushing to finish up the first issue in the alloted pages, which is what made me wish I was reading the whole story in one setting, as it just cut off.

  4. Marvel released the complete "Amazing Spider Man" series (#1-500) on CD-Roms.

"I think Marvel Knights had a vision, and that what I talk about."

I'm not sure what the vision was other than throw things out under the banner and see what people praise.

  5. Who do you want to ignore, Keeyah?

Wolvy-Seriously, here's a good example, there are a lot of men who are with women that they complain about constantly, but yet they still claim to love them and they stay with them.

They go around complaining to everyone, "Well, my girl does this and my girl does that, and I'm just so sick of it!" Well, at first, you feel bad for the guy, but then he comes back, "My girl's still doing this. God, I hate it!" Now, you ask him, "Well, are you going to leave her?", "No, I love her!". Next time you see the guy, "You're not going to believe what my girl did this time....." Now, everyone is sick of this man. "Listen, you said you love your woman and are going to stay with her, so you have no fucking right to complain! You had two options, you know damn well, and you chose the option you did. End of story. Quit your damn whining!"

Now, apply this to your situation.

No one is TELLING you what to do. We gave you advice, if you chose to ignore it, that's fine and is your right. BUT, you know what? That really means that you made YOUR CHOICE with YOUR OWN FREE WILL, so you have no room to complain about it anymore.

Should you choose to change your choice in the future and want advice, we will be willing to listen and try to offer advice again.

I agree that everyone was getting on your case and being excessively mean, but this is their point in the nicest terms possible.

We're sorry your life sucks, but so does most of our lives, so live with it!

  6. I was freaking out, because I didn't remember this thread at all, and I saw that I had replied to someone's post. I'm thinking, "Oh my god! Someone is logging in under my screen name!", but then I saw it was from March of last year!

  7. I'm sure everyone knows that I'm an introvert.

Well, everywhere except on this Forum, but that's because it's type.

If I get close to a person and feel very comfortable with them and trust them, I'm extremely extroverted around that person, but that person only.

  8. Red does make very valid points.

I mean, it was always considered normal and part of human nature that men were entitled to have concubines.

Now, this is still practiced in the world, sure. But, in the "West", we either laugh at these people or call them "rednecks" or "sick fucks". It's no longer part of our accepted civilization.

Women have progressed to a point, in many cultures today, where they are no longer considered property. They are thinking human beings who have the same rights and feelings as men.

So, as Red said, nothing is determined in human culture.

  9. Ah, but what are the numbers where persons sold into prostitution are concerned, especially concerning "Third World" statistics?

The thing is, I've seen many female prostitutes. I know where they are, anyone who has a familiarity with Flint knows how to find a female prostitute if they want one. But, I have never met or seen a male prostitute....unless they are more likely to keep silent.

I know of jigalos (is that how you spell it?) and male strippers in the area, but there are also call girls and a much higher number of female strip clubs.

  10. Could be some sort of computer mind dreaming all the realities, creating a new program with every choice made or not made.

    Ok...you lost me now.

    It explains Capitalism.

The more I discover about computers and A.I., the more it explains our reality to me. The use of this terminology is just a way we can understand it, but is limiting to explaining any sort of truth. Sometimes language limits instead of expounds. (see:final issue of Promethea)

  11. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that somehow happened to me in April 2005. Life stopped making sense at that point for me.

But, I still want to see these divergent realities. There are 3 instances in my recent life that I really wish I could see what would have happened. I'm pretty sure I know the answers if I'd have done something differently, but it would still be reassuring to know for sure.

And, there's a sense of satisfaction, even if one of those possible worlds had ended up exactly how I wanted things to end up for me, it would still be ME living out that other life.

  12. It is a modern way of looking at magic.

And, modern magic uses mathematical and scientific principles to attempt to explain what magic has always been "random acts used to change probability".

One reason I've never gotten in-depth into Chaos Magic, because I don't understand math and don't have a huge amount of information about science.

What I'm interested in is a way to transcend dimensional barriers. They say that every time one makes or does make a decision in life, it creates a diverging reality. Well, there must be some way to tap into those divergent realities to glimpse what your life would've ended up like, right?

Did you ever stop to think that, since you exist simultaneously on myriad number of hypothetical worlds, that perhaps randomly people are "sucked" from one dimension to another? Like, what if my life was meant to go another way and somehow I ended up in a different possible reality. How would I ever know?

  13. I'm by no means an expert on Chaos Magic. I don't understand the name either.

Chaos Magic is a system based around mathematical formulae (I think?) that state that one can affect probability.

"Ever action has a reaction"? It's based on Chaos Theory, which is a science which postulates that "a butterfly flapping its wings in China can cause a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico". That sort of thing.

Chaos Magic is playing into those natural cycles in nature.

  14. Morrison has his own brand of magic, based around Chaos Magic.

"Magik most stuff comes back 10 fold or whatever. "

No, Magik is dead. She died in "New Mutants" #50.

And, even if you do something really nice for someone, it still might come back against you.

The whole random number fold is stupid. There's really no way to rank it, either something good or bad happens, sometimes both.

I won't talk about my own personal experience with magic, but my friend in high school that I got to practice is did a spell to make money. He was thinking he'd get rich or something. He ended up finding a $20 bill in a parking lot the next day. He complainted about it.

I told him, "Look, did you have this $20 before you cast the spell?" "No." "Well, it worked then didn't it? So quit your damn complaining!"

All the magic I ever needed to know I learned from the "Goetia". Not a good text for most people for beginners. The spells are very easy, if you ignore all the ritual they tell you to use, but without the ritual, you're pretty well asking to set yourself up for trouble later. The ritual is there for a reason, even if it is unnecessary. If you're looking for a quick fix, it's a simple and powerful book.
