Carnivale is awesome.
I picked up Carnivale in the second season and was like wow. I couldn't believe what a breathtaking and mysterious show it was. Unfortunately, people don't want to wait to see the story unfold; however, I'd rather see a show take it's time and develop and go through story arcs. The second season really did me end and I watched it till the season finale which I thought was b.s. They had a great thing going with the Owl and rooster theme and should have used when facing the nazi faction and shouldn't have wrapped it up neatly into two episodes.
Frank Black was a great character. He didn't have the nuanced method acting of House or the non sequiters of John Noble in Fringe. i loved the restrained performance of Lance Henriksen. Which also reminds of Marlo and Lance Reddick in the Wire. I like some over the top characters but to see someone act so refined is a fresh breath of air.

I started wathcing Fringe on the Fox website its not too bad...
Can't get into it. Reminds me of another FOX, X-Filesish show: Millineum.
I actually liked Millenium until they ruined it the second season. LOL. That's too funny you brought that up dude. And do have to say they need out of the formulaic plot very quickly or I will stop watching it. i'm not going to waste my time like a I did with Millenium.

Finally saw Blood Diamond and wow what another good movie form Edward Zwick. A
Quest for Fire. A rare treat to find in crapbuster but it was made by Jean Jaques Annaud. And proves that special effects do not the movie make. A
Makes 10,000 yrs Bc seem like a shot on shittio movie.
And finally I gave in and watched Boondock Saints. Silly, profane, it was so bad it was good. It almost had it there though but I'm not going to grade because it was fun to watch though

Read Twilight it was interesting and fun read but definitly not of my vein....
I also read the Road by Cormac McCarthy wow. Amazing and intense.

Been awhile but i have a seen a few movies... Chronicle of an Escape A picks up as the movie goes along
Chapter 27 While Jared Leto's performance was inspiring this biopic ran a bit bland B only for his acting
Cashback not bad if your really really bored but covers no real ground C
Signal what was the movie trying to be D
Mother of Tears Not as bad as I thought it would be very classic Dario Argento with threads of Phenomena mixed in it. He also makes fun of Fulci in the end which I thought was great I give it an A

Doomsday.... umm what was this movie trying to do ummm I have no idea and couldnt care less for it. I give it a C just for ambition

I won't be able to see Big Love this summer or Californication which pisses me off and I'm missing out on the new season of Penn&Teller bullshit which saddens me.

I checked and The Orphanage is already out on DVD and [REC] is out on August 11th so there's something to look forward to.
The orphanage was really good... I can't wait to see REC though. And I really enjoyed Cloverfield, it was good fun movie.

Finished Stonehenge I give it a C it was only mildly entertaining.... I'm now reading Jeffery Deaver's Cold Moon. They only I have gotten to dislike is the array of smaller characters. It's seems like every other chapter there's a character from another case who comes into help Rhyme.
The Cold Moon is probably my least favourite of the Lincoln Rhyme novels and seems to have been written just so he could introduce his new character Kathryn Dance who will have her own spin off series of novels. Still the worst of Deaver's books are miles ahead of whatever crap James Patterson is pumping out nowadays.
I actually stopped reading it for a moment. I moved to mark frost the list of seven.

Has anyone seen the fan-made spoof of the trailer?
Or Bay's Batman Dark Knight script? ;)

Michael Bay is a fucking dumbass. He singlehandly ruined Transformers with all stupid jokes and shit. Even Spielberg criticized him about that movie.
Nolan is quickly beginning one of my favorite directors I can even forgive him for the insomnia remake which he should have left alone.
But Maggie Gllynehal as Rachel pissed me off. And the funny thing is I loved her Secretary and SherryBaby but she's not good for big action movies like this.
This movie shook me to the core of my being. I just wished it was longer

Holy crap that trailer looks awesome. I cannot wait to see that. It's funny my soon to be ex and I went to see TDK together and she saw that with me on the bigscreen. Now Watchmen is the only superhero comic I have ever managed to get her into, and when it was done she looked at me and said, "So in March you wanna go on a date?".
Looks like you're going to be a lucky boy Finn lol...
And by the way Twilight that is an awesome avatar.
Seriously though, you can't have everything in comic in the movie and make it watchable but to a few fanboys. Hate him or like him Zakk Snyder knows how to make a good flick... I love his remake of Dawn of the Dead and was really suprised about 300.

I don't mind remakes so much if they make them true to the story and not lame like half the j-horror shit that's flooding the big screen right now. But I would love to see rec in own language I couldn't imagine them trying to do brotherhood of the wolf or vidcq. Those would be disastrous. the only thing I really hated about insomnia remake was the fact that al pacino was way to clean. Stellan Skarsgaard in the original performance was amazing and the scene in the car was something that doesn't happen in American movies.
But they all have to capitalize on something it's Whoreywood you know.

I asked my friends what they thought about the trailer and they said it looked a bit weird. Which is a good that Watchmen will stay close to the heart of the story...

Torture porn was a phrase coined by the shit eating media. I only referred to it because they have no idea about a lot of the movies came out by the Italians in 70's and 80's. But I have to say most filmakers realized how dumb those stupid slasher chase scenes really are... And I can't believe there remaking Friday the 13th and probably nightmare. I hope they both bomb.

David Gilmour and High Hopes...
have you guys ever listened to the soundtracks Nick Cave and Warren ellis have done: The Proposition and The assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Brilliant stuff and highly recommended

The Dark Knight is pretty much the only Batman film you'll ever have to see. Between the astoundingly high quality of this flick and the death of Heath Ledger - who totally owned the character of The Joker - I have no idea where they can take it from here.
Requisite Wilkinson complaint: Bale's Batman voice is still really shit.
I had been expecting this to be my only complaint as well. What about the fight sequences? Are they a little less incoherent this time around?
I don't mind Bale's Batman but Maggie Gyllenhal pissed me off as Rachel. I only wished the movie was longer and the bat sonar scenes were really cool.

How can you not love the butthole surfers...

Bernard Cromwell Stonehenge... It's alright but read more like a fantasy novel than a historical novel that its supposed to be

Ellaborate, please? It sounded to me like not a good thing...
it was more of him mentioning the names of script writers and movies that I loathe.. he wanted to get the carey brothers in on it. Have you ever seen House of Wax or the Reaping. Sorry, im not going to sell my soul...

I disappear and come back every few months.. the last time i was talking to head of a studio about my book... just to let you know Hollywood is indeed evil beyond all reproach

I'm curious....can anyone tell me if Dean Koontz's Intensity is worth a read?
I heard it right up there with his odd thomas novels for which i just finished the first one and found it very entertaining and a good read. so you might enjoy it
Let's see while I have been gone I read the Monster of Florence by Douglas Preston... This book chilled the blood inside my body and that hasn't happened in a long time. Even while reading during the hottest muggiest weather I felt the need for a blanket. This non-fiction book is a masterpiece of the macabre and what happens when people believe in conspiracy theories. A++
Snuff by chuck palahniuk was quite a let down. It's easy to read and short but it never really goes anywhere or says anything he hasn't said before. I loved rant but this goes right up there with Diary. D
Coldheart Canyon was also a let down. Well never clumsy or bad just the story wasn't really there. C
I'm reading the Tenderness of Wolves at them moment and find it to be really enjoyable.
Yakko Smakko & Dot present...

Of course, it was the same plot. It was what Terry Gilliam based 12 monkeys on....
I did see Iron Man and well the story was a bit weak. Robert Downey jr was fantastic. Of course, it had to be weak because its origin story too. Hopefully movies learn from the Dark Knight. That to do a sequel right requires a great story and not mindless fonder like X3 the last stand
