No mention of grapefruit?
This poll is very puerile...

I'd also like to thank them for placing Cuba under an embargo. If they had not done that then Americans would be buying all the cigars and I wouldn't be able to afford them.
I've been lucky in that all the Americans I have actually met and spoken to at any length have been good, honest and smart people. I cannot recall one bad person.
In a very petty way I have a big thing against the US film industries attempts to rewrite history.
It isn't just the film industry, sadly: I've got into arguments with cretins on a few other boards who seriously believe that they saved our worthless eurotrash arses from Hitler. Explain that five out of every seven German troops to die in that war were killed by Russians and they're not having it: the Russians were with the Nazis, because Hitler was a socialist too!
Fuckwits.
It should be against the law to misrepresent history, but then, how would we prosecute such crimes?Try asking this clown the Austrians have locked up for denying that the holocaust happened: it's doable.

The cursed earth and the Child Quest are both out of print with high mark ups. I'll probably pick up the child quest on e-bay.
I've put in an order for X-statix mike aldred and Milligans x-force spoof. I'm sort of looking forward to it. I never knew it existed.
They wouldn't be as their the two best collections. America, which a lot of people cite as the best Dredd comic ever, has been out of print for years and Rebellion are presumably too busy collecting as much of the goadawful crap Ennis came up with when he was writing Dredd in the early '90s to bother making any of the worthwhile stuff available at the moment. Wankers.

To be honest, I decided that I wasn't going to look at Fables (or anything else by Willingham, come to that) until such time as he publically apologises for that Merv Pumpkinhead oneshot and donates whatever he got paid for it to some worthy cause.

do you guys know fernet?
I've not met the gentleman, no.

over here it's just not a good time right now for Goth, Metal, Industrial, or just about any kind of rock and roll.
Why do you think that is?
Why did 51% of this hellhole pick a loud mouth bragard as their commander and chief. Because a lot of us are not that bright and willfully so.
It wasn't 51% of you, just 51% of those who could be arsed to vote: that's probably every Bible class in the country.
And maybe it wasn't as many as 51% of those who voted....
True enough, josh: a certain writer has been doing everything in his power to split the democrat vote for the last couple of elections, hasn't he?

God youre right there....and you become a very cheap date....
That's just the way I like my women. Cheap.
A 2 for 1 offer is always good too....
I'm not touching that one with a bargepole.

Eldritch is a Yorkshire man, isn't he?
Is he pump!! He's from darn sarf innee? :D
He is, but he's a Yorkshire man by choice, if not by birth. (When he's not living in Hamburg.)
alwayscrashing: word is he gave Warners an album a year or three back to get out of a contract, and hasn't had a record deal since.
-
Bar-steward.
I wonder if they're coming to Manchester.....
Eldritch is a Yorkshire man, isn't he? He may give that one a miss.
-
Immensely....it's re-orientated my attitude to alcohol, which was becoming rather 'devil may care'......
See 'white week' thread.....
I'm glad it's helped, then.

Lightweight.
Hey, I've just de-toxed for a week, I'm virtually an alcohol virgin again. Just sniffing the stuff gets me drunk. :D
I was forgetting that, you're right. Do you think a week on the wagon has helped?

Hawkwind - oh *YAWNsville*....(no offence) Bunch of old fart crusties!
Yep. Just like Bauhaus.
Touche! :D
To be fair, I wouldn't go and see Hawkwind now, but I'll bet they were a thing of wonder back in the '70s before they fired Lemmy and Calvert.
-
I'm on Grolsch at the moment. I'd sooner be on Guiness, but they had an offer on those pint tins of Grolsh in the off license.

Slobberbone, Big Wreck, Etc.,
Im sorry Finn, but that sounds really funny after a sherry, a red wine, and two JDs...

There's no info on the site yet about line-ups or anything.....I hope she hurries up!
I remember seeing adverts for the the centennial "Dracfest" which was (I think) the first of these things they did in Whitby: the headliners were The Stranglers, The Damned and Alien Sex Fiend, so you can imagine what the rest of the bill was like...
That's the fucking dream team line-up.
Not without Hawkwind, it isn't.
-
Presumably, they're up for grabs. Although, technically, they would belong to Marvel.
The shirt's probably in next months's Previews.
-
KISS are not very good.
They're not even that good, Mark.
-
Only in passing: presumably he's never hit somebody while wearing tights so most of the John Byrne massive have no idea who he is.
-
Freq by Robert Calvert.
If you only buy one concept album about the miner's strike, this is the one to get.
(That NIN one isn't to be sniffed at kinki: if the Graaf and Eliza Carthy hadn't put out records last year, it'd be my favourite.)

Some of the songs themselves are alright.
Funny as a kid in the late 70s I heard all sorts of crazy rumours in the playground about their concerts being Satanic rituals and all that. Then I grew up and saw that they were basically clowns.
It's the same with Marlyn Manson--all his supposed evil reputation just masks the fact that he's nothing more than a goof-ball prancing around in make-up.
Kiss is definitely the main point of reference for Manson besides Bowie: he'd like to be Alice Cooper, but he's never going to manage that until he can write a song or two that's any good, and that's just beyond him.

I dislike them immensely. But i dislike all heavy rock with the exception of Motorhead. Its gotta be punk as fuck for me all the way................
I saw an interview with one of the Wildhearts where he was saying that Lemmy had given him shit because he went to see Motorhead wearing a Kiss t shirt. Silly boy.
reality TV gone too far?
