  1. Did you guys remember the issue when the Punisher tied Deadpool up and he just kept talking for the longest time? That was great and to see how Castle got so irritated was great. "GOD, DON'T YOU EVER SHUT UP?!?!" HAHAHAHA.

  2. 'Round here it's shown on the Sci-Fi channel on Fridays at 7 o'clock. I caught my first Firefly episode this past Friday, so far some really good stuff. After the show they show clips and stuff of the movie.

  3. How true!

I enjoyed "Girl Interrupted", because I just never took it seriously. If you stop taking it so seriously, it's a much better film.

Besides which, there was that other movie (I forget the name) about mental illness which ended up being a 2 hour infomercial for Prozac....so, you know, it can get much worse! "I'm suffering! My life is awful! WHY?!" Goes to psychiatrist, "I have....DEPRESSION?!" Is given Prozac, "Wow! This is the greatest thing ever invented! I love Prozac! If you ever have depression, just get Prozac, and everything will be fine." The End

    HAHAHAHA, priceless.

  4. From the small collection of Batman stories I have, I really like Scott McDaniel's Batman for some reason.

Hey Mark, is there any Alan Grant Shadow of the Bat trades whatsoever. Because for some reason as a younger comic reader, I always enjoyed reading his Batman stuff.

  5. lol, great thread. I nominate myself becuz I sorta have a bit of a hidden temper where I can just snap which is why a lot of my friends watch out for. I'm sorta known for finding ways to get ppl crazy after they did something small to me and I'm also known for finding weird ways to kill annoying bugs and rodents, hahaha. Good times.

  6. I remember the first comic I've ever bought and read was a Superboy comic. I don't quite remember much of it except that one of his enemies by the name of Knockout was helping him distract a bunch of other bad guys to let Superboy's friend follow out some kind of plan. I remember after I was hooked and I just would randomly buy different comics of different characters yet I didn't understand a lot of all that was happening as story arcs or whatever, I just bought the issues randomly.

  7. Well, he's like an everyday Joe who you see walking down the street and sitting a few seats from you on the train. Anyone can be JohnConstantine, he's basically all of us in a comic book. Only with knowledge of the supernatural. Put in his perdicument (i know I spelled that wrong) we know we'd never get out alive and look for some little piece of something to save us. We can't jump into the air and do a dropkick while slicing someone's head off with a sword (hehe, I wish  ). So reading about JC is like reading a true man's struggle. And I just love reading his thoughts of everything, that was why I enjoyed Ennis' from what I've read. The only thing I don't like about Carey's run from what I've read is that I miss being in John Constantine's own head.

  8. I was obsessed with Mark Millar's Marvel Knight's Spider-Man, there's still not one Spider-Man comic I enjoy more than that, after he left it changed. But right now, It's all Joss Whedon and his Astonishing X-Men for me.

  9. I liked that whole time stops thing too. But what sorta got me was when Lucifer came down and time also stopped, that was probably the only problem that got me becuz it wasn't explained, but Lucifer walking through the broken glass scene was ace.

  10. When I first saw the film in theatres I was a bit confused at some scenes but I still enjoyed it and got the main grasp of the story, although it did seem a bit chopped. But when I watched it again, this time with captions, I understood the movie completely, so now I'm a lil confused on how people dislike the film because the script makes no sense?

  11. Balthazar. this Grendel link may help you understand the strange, complicated publication of the early Grendels. I fielded the question on so many message boards - back in the day when I visited other comic message boards than this one - that I finally wrote up the essentials and tossed it on a web page. The Hunter Rose Grendels are well worth the effort to figure out what goes where.

As for the "future Grendels" post Brian Li Sung, you're on your own, but those are much more straightforward to figure out. Most people like War Child and God and the Devil. I didn't care for either, but YMMV.

Avoid anything called "Grendel Tales" (except Four Devils, One Hell, which is excellent) like the plague. Those are the non-Matt Wagner stories written and illustrated by "promising newcomers" in the Grendel-verse. Even when names who subsequently became big were involved, they're terrible. Really, really terrible.

Wow, Selkie, thanx. I'll b sure to check it out.
