  1. The amount of cash the royals get from us has dwindled over the years as many hangers on from the far fringes of the family were made to go out and earn a wage (albeit for noncing round Chelsea creating dubious job titles for themselves). A large proportion of the Queens wealth is made by a crack team of financial investors who ensure that if our British public ever grow the balls to rise up then she wont have to go without.

In this grey, dull, overly p.c. world I like the way that old fool Prince Phillip puts his foot in any situation with a television camera nearby, you can't really hate him for it because he's harmless.

By no means am I a royalist but come the revolution I would gladly take in Zara Phillips.

  2. My name's down on Y: I picked up the first trade a while back and was going to continue with the rest, but this is easier and cheaper.

Can someone who knows about such things tell me if there's a problem with writing a cheque from a UK (sterling) bank account to a US recipient, and if so, how to get around it? If I have to I can send $30 as cash notes, but a cheque would be preferable.

You can't write cheques between countries, either send the cash by International signed for (you're not really supposed to send cash either but this is the easiest way), or international money order (from the post office but they charge around £12). Failing that use Paypal.

  3. Various visits to New Zealand (Auckland my birth place, up and down the north island), Australia (Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Brisbane, many places inbetween) and the Cook Islands (Rarotonga my mums birth place and Aitutaki) where I have lots of family.

New York and L.A; both wonderful places with great people.

    Singapore

    Hong Kong

    Tai Pei

    Kuala Lumpur

    France (Paris, Cannes)

    Italy (Rimini, Florence, Rome, Milan)

Belgium (Brussels, Brugge) A great country to visit

Spain (Barcelona and a god awful family holiday when I was 14 in some shit hole tourist trap where everyone ate bacon and eggs in the morning)

As for England I grew up in the north east but was always visiting the main body of my English family in Surrey and Berkshire. Thus I've been round many places in the North and South of England but nowhere inbetween (Birmingham, Nottingham basically the midlands but I've heard I'm not missing much).

I like to get away as often as possible, aiming to visit Berlin and Dublin at some point in the future.

  4. I always carry a Rotring 0.2 drawing pen and feel apprehensive if I forget it.

0.2 Rapidograph? damn, I never go smaller than the .35mm ones... the others are just too fine for me (in more way than one - I accidentally snapped the point of a .15mm once).

Great, now my girlfriend has cleaned my desk and put my pen in some far corner of the world.

  5. Pooka, this sounds like a really good gig that you're unusually well suited for, and for the good of the young people who would be helped, I'd much rather see you handling this job than anyone else I can think of.  Good luck & knock 'em dead!  8-)

Knocking kids dead could be a proffesional faux pas, I would advise against it.

  6. 'Repetoire. Tamara will chat endlessly about her upper-class lifestyle and celebrity friends.

Special Requirements. Tamara is a vegetarian and only drinks expensive champagne.'

Doesnt that sound like an enchanting evening.

  7. And I still think this could only work as a trilogy: even the book is divided in three dramatic parts. I'm afraid this condensation of 'key' scenes, i.e. the coolest, is really going to hurt Evey's character.

I wouldnt want the Wankowskis to stuff up another trilogy.

Hope this turns out OK (but slightly pessimistic), Vendetta is by far my favourite comic book after Hellblazer.

  8. Hey Andy, how's Australia?

Wouldn't know, I'm back in the UK. My girlfriend cant get out of a work contract in Southampton until August so rather than sit on a beach twiddling my thumbs I came back to work for a bit (fucking nuts I know).

Now living in the eutopia that is Bedford Place, Southampton.

Had a good time abroad though.

    You still studying here?

  9. Have rarely been here since I got back to the UK (changed dwelling in Southampton havent reconnected to broadband yet).

Didnt expect New Years Eve to be anything special (again) and so wasnt dissapointed (in fact had a good time watching the pissed en mass, forgot to drink myself).

Accidentally got into marriage discussion with my girlfriend of 4 years, the initial talks were for visa reasons (we're moving to Australia next this year, I have a UK and New Zealand passport she only has a UK, turns out it wont make that much difference to her application) still not that up for it but think of the party.

Started writing for the next short film , watched Tsunami footage and then rescued a spider from my bathtub (I saved a life, good feeling).

    Happy New Year.

Good that Matt (Kejoxen) is still here and that Rogan still writes such shite "she has some serious abandonment issues. and in the mddle of a fight, i walked out on her. she then compated that to her dad walking out on her family..."

  10. Clothes

    Crate of Champers

Spike Jones DVD to sit next to the Michael Gondry I got for my birthday

A Gerber money clip / knife

    Drunk

Hello there! Finished travelling the world? Did you bring us back a straw-stuffed purple donkey and some dubious alcohol?

Good to be back from Australia, Im staying on in the UK till August, initially confused by the change in forum until I saw some familiar names. Haven't read Hellblazer for a few months so I've got some catching up to do.

Dubious alcohol? Oz is full of it.
