I'll move the current posts to one of these later.

I think it's to do with a "guest status" option. We didn't want non members trawling old posts.

Okay. Final attempt to solve this.

(1) Click your new posts option.

(2) any new posts in a forum called Down The Local Any other business or Any other business 2

(3) If no new posts appear, go to the forums list and scroll down to the section Down The Local

(4) can you see that there are new posts before you click in?

(5) can you see any of the above new forums?

Can you see this as a "new topic"?

While the tidying happened, it seems we finally got the latest software.
So all post moving is on hold until the database is reloaded.

There's a point. Maybe I'll put the busy threads up top .

For the opposite reason that is suggested by 7c's question about new posts.

Old posts being buried in a part of the forum. The long single threads bury new conversation which might interest lurkers more. Given the low turnover these days, a single forum for other topics should have worked the same. I'll have another try later.

No idea why this one forum is different. May be due to software upgrade notes on the admin page.

Incidentally on the home page in my versions of the forum, each subforum shows when they have new topics. Is that showing for anyone else.
